I've worked in commercial kitchens and tried my fair share of bench scrapers. This might be my favorite. It's square, sturdy, and the edge is sharp. Comfy grip. It's great. I've used it to square up cakes, to form bread, and to scrape the workbench. I especially like that it's sharp enough that if I'm making cinnamon rolls or some other decorative bread that requires chopping, it works VERY well to cut, and I don't need to get a knife dirty. I like that I can measure with the side and don't need to get out a ruler. The only negative is the stupid logo huge on it, as if this random Amazon brand needs daily recognition in our home kitchens. I can overlook that tho for the performance. ... show more

    • This is my first bench scraper and I love it.

I especially like using it to cut dough because the dough doesn't stick the way it would with a knife. Once in a while, I have some really soft sourdough, and then it's nice to use the scraper in one hand and scrape it along the board while turning the dough over, which saves me some hand-washing and even a small loss of dough, but I expect I will mainly be using it for the cutting. For instance, instead of using round biscuit cutters for my sourdough biscuits, I plan to use this bench scraper to cut the dough into triangles, instead. No need to round up unused dough around the edges of circles and try to reincorporate them into more orthodox shapes. Triangle biscuits can come out in intriguing shapes and postures, depending on how the dough rises in the oven! ... show more

I chose this scraper because it also had the measurements along the edges which is helpful. It's sturdy, wellmade and easy to clean. I also like the light blue color of the handle.

Be careful - the edge is sharp! And I love it because I can do additional chopping if I need. If you’re looking for the flat part to be flimsy, go someplace else. Does what I needed and more! (Chopping part). And I love the pretty handle too - bonus.
