The slicer arrived in perfect condition. (???) For a used and cosmetic damage, I couldn't see what the previous owner was looking at. This should work out fine for home use. It's sturdy, the blades are sharp, and it's been designed for ease of use and maintenance. My only concern is that the manufacturer appears to not be able to support it with parts. I need to acquire a rubber safety cap for one of the vertical guides, and I'd like a set of replacement lynchpins in case I lose the ones that ship with it. However, the manufacturer's support service appears unable to provide either. Upon closer review of their web site, they appear to be a retailer for rather a few manufacturers, and Amazon is thus a retailer for them. ... show more

I made a fair bit of shoestring fries with this thing. After a while i went a little nuts and i tried doing a second cut to make teensy cubes for a potato hash. Firm tofu comes apart a bit and gums up the pusher but it works. Tomatoes kind of work. Onions work great. Cleaning is a bit of a bugbear, gotta get up in the pusher with a brush. Spend hours cutting up vegetables? Wish it would just "get done"? Well i have a product for you! Joking aside, worth EVERY penny. Hours of work done in minutes, it also has multiple sizes so you can dice them how you want. The only downside is the blades being how they are can be difficult to clean fully but that is honestly a moot point for me since this saves hours and hours of time. I have done carrots, onions, peppers, potatoes, tomatoes and even roasted some hams and diced them up. onions and peppers are a joke to this thing, they don't last long. For tomatoes I would say go no smaller than the second size as the smallest size makes them kinda smooshed (more smashed than cut). The ham turned out AMAZING, such small chunks perfect for sandwich or pizza. If it ever broke, I would buy it again no questions asked though it is rather a simple design so i doubt that will happen. You do need a bit of strength the small the size you go for the blade and the more you want to do at once. I would say peel the onion and cut in quarters and do it that way. It will take you longer to do this than to do the actual dicing. Also, i would get a tray of large baking dish and place this inside it and chop like that so you don't have to stop all the time to empty the bowl under it. ... show more
