My yard and garden plants had a horrible white fly infestation this year. I had my yard treated four times by a pest control company and they couldn't get rid of the white flies. I purchased these sticky papers and put them in various areas where the white flies were most concentrated. They definitely work! They're somewhat difficult to use, because they are so sticky and they fight back when trying to hang them! They also are indiscriminate and I caught some pollinators that I would have rather had working on my blossoms instead of dying on a yellow sticky trap. They are bright, yellow and unattractive, but I was able to find places behind plants where they were mostly out of sight from visitors to my home. They start attracting bugs right away.     • Killed a robin! Don't use the ground stakes outdoors!

CONS: I only tried one of the stakes that goes in the ground, placed behind a plant. The sticky sheet was very difficult to insert, took 15 min to remove glue from hands, and the sheet was too big so the top flopped over to the ground. Couple hours later a robin chasing a worm got stuck on it. Spent 1/2 hr chasing down the bird flopping around under bushes. Eventually removed the sticky sheet and LOTS of feathers. It could hop too fast to catch again, but could not fly and probably became prey - possibly injuring another animal. PRO'S: The ones I hung on poles or shepherd hooks were very sticky and quickly grabbed a lot of flies of all sizes. I like the fact that it doesn't use chemicals that harm the plants. None of my plants are blooming yet, so I can't tell yet if it will harm the pollenating bees. Note: when hanging outdoors, they are so sticky that they stick to everything, including your plants, hooks, your clothing if you get too close. ... show more

After I got an invasion of over 150 black house flies (not knats) I tried a few products and gadgets to remove them. This took about a week to get them all, and not pretty, but was the most effective of all the fly killers I tried, in the quantities I needed to deal with.

I have bout these a few times now. I have had a terrible infestation of gnats and whiteflies and these have helped me get the populations under control. They are not overly sticky, but sticky enough. You can use both sides at once, or flip one side at a time if hanging against a fence, for example, by leaving the paper in tact on one side until your ready to flip it over. These have held up their stickiness against WA state rain and my sprinklers. I like the plastic posts it comes with for setting some of these in my lawn. The bread ties work fine for hanging, but I prefer to use small zip ties. Would recommend and buy again. Had to buy more because the others got filled with insects. ... show more

We had a sudden infestation of fungus gnats the plumerias we keep indoors during the winter (the gnats didn't come in with the plants, it was months later that they showed up). I tried the usual dawn/vinegar traps which caught a lot but didn't quite do the trick, plus they are messy. I am using mosquito bits to treat the larvae but still have adult gnats galore. These sticky traps are great! You can cut them to pieces so you get more bang for your buck. They come with twist ties to hang them but I found that to be an odd way to use them as any breeze can cause them to get stuck to the plant or anything else nearby. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that they only come with TWO plastic stands to use with 20 fullsize sheets. That's nuts. I'd expect at least 10 stands, if not a full 20. And yes, I knew this buying them so it wasn't a surprise. The stands work way better than the twist ties. I just propped the sticky traps up against the plant or a stick so it works but would be nice to have something that would secure them better. The traps caught a ton of gnats along with some whiteflies that had been hiding on a new plant. I did a lot of cost comparison between this product and others and this one definitely gives you more for your money. Highly recommend. ... show more
