Helpful to know up front what this does and does not do. It does work great for using up to 20 fingerprints to unlock and lock the door with no problem. It also can connect to phone via Bluetooth if needed to adjust settings or add prints. What it does not do is connect to WiFi or Amazon or google directly which means no remote locking or unlocking. Also doesn’t seem to have an auto lock feature, but for the price it’s great and was easy to install - my finger print is now my key (also comes with a set of real keys). I have a total of 9 geektale locks in my house. I love them. They are super easy to use. The app could use some serious work though. Even though the locks I have are wifi and bluetooth, I have to wait for the Bluetooth to connect to be able to unlock a door with some of my locks. The app kicks me out frequently. ... show more

Very premium-feeling smart door lock but bulky to hold and turn. It's much larger than your average door knob. It's works fine for adults but can be challenging for small kids. Plus for some reason my keypad door knob seems a bit wiggly that could be due to a loose fitting or poor manufacturing. Installation was easy and pretty straightforward if you've installed a door knob before. Only difference is connecting a wire between the outside door knob and inside door knob. The door strike plate has slightly sharper corners compared to the average plate so you'll have to shave off some wood corners to fit if the plate won't be able to fit your previous cutout plate. To screw the knob connecting screws, you will have to open the inside door knob cap which is great as they're not as accessible to just remove the screws without removing the cap first. Smart lock uses 4-AAA batteries to function and only operates via bluetooth (so you have to be within range to use the App). Once batteries are installed and app is downloaded (account registration required), I was able to add the door lock and begin registering fingerprints and custom keycodes (8-10 digits only) plus create individual accounts for family members. Didn't look like there was a limit to how many I could create. There is an option to deactivate the auto-lock so that the door could operate without any smart features, but it seems like once it detects my fingerprint it auto-locks which can be annoying if you want to keep it unlock or great if you want to lock it immediately. Door can unlock via app also but you have to be within BT range. There is a reset button on the inside with is nice but wish it was in a less visible spot for anyone to access. Back-up keys are sturdy and large so you won't easily lose or break them and they work well should you ever need to use them. The key hole can be accessed by pushing the screw on the bottom behind the door knob to spring-open the cover latch and then twist to the side to access the key hole. And it doesn't feel flimsy but locks well into place so unauthorized users can't easily identify and access. Overall, nice-looking door knob with amazing smart features that are responsive and works great. I really like this smart lock door and may consider getting more but will have to test it further to see how long it lasts and continues to work. Pros: -premium door knob -easy to install -multiple users, fingerprints, keycodes -auto-lock function (can deactivate via app) -premium back-up key -back-up charging USB C port -lights up to indicate locking status (green = success/open, red = failure/lock) -battery status via app Cons: -wiggly door knob -bulky door knob -very visible reset button -doesn't fully deactivate auto-lock function -can be difficult for kids to turn and open -has trouble reading kids fingerprints -app only functions within BT range -keycode limited to 8-10 digits ... show more

The package came with very clear and concise instructions, and I had the lock installed in no time.
