  • Perfect for my living room entertainment center!
This rack blends in perfectly with my existing system and supports many of my high end audio components. It is stable and vibration free. My only complaint was a need to repair a bent component.

  • Good product
No problem assembling after I discovered the bolts for the cross pieces were in the cross pieces and had to be removed first .

  • Not enough hardware for 1U equipment
If you plan to install alot of !U equipment, be warend that this unit only comes with enough cage nuts for 6 2U devices. Additonally, Gearit does not appear to selel addtional hardware, so you are left guiessing with cage nuts will fit (extras I had in my hardware kit defineitely do not fit). Alos, note that which MOST of the hardware comes in a pag, the bolts fro the cross struts have been screwed onto the cross struts in advance. Also note that it came up two washers short for the cross struts. Als note that the rack screws are undersized, which could reulst in damage to your equipment. Fortunately standard rack screws appear to fit the cage nuts they supplied. Also note that the side screens vibrate, and may need to be damped in order to prevent vibration and ringing if you are using this in a recording studio environment. ... show more

  • Happy with purchase
I built my wife a karaoke station with this rack because she and her friends like to have little karaoke parties. When the package arrived and I unboxed everything, there were no scratches in the table top or powder coated parts. I followed the instructions and everything connected properly and all of the components needed were in the package. The wire mesh on the sides came out of the package dented a little bit. If I had paid more for this I would have returned it because it’s not perfect. There are holes on the bottom. I ordered some casters and they screwed in securely, giving my wife the ability to roll her karaoke station across the carpet and put it away when she’s done. I like the height of the rack, ability to add wheels and the smooth table top. Take note the rack rails have square holes which I preferred, but for each 1U position there are only 2 holes (top and bottom) but no middle hole. This made it a little harder to find rack drawers that could be mounted. ... show more

  • Beware of the top
This item was on my wishlist and I received it as a present at Christmas. It assembles easily and looks very nice. I didn't experience any misalignment problems like other reviewers who assembled one. I put 4 rack mount audio devices in it with a couple of 1u spacers in it. All told, it's using 10 of the 12 possible 1u locations. Recently, I needed to move it and I grabbed it by the top to lift it a little so it would move across a carpeted floor. All 4 of the retaining screws for the top popped out as the wooden top separated from the metal framing. At this point, I'm not sure if the plastic anchors can be put back in place, possibly with some CA glue so the top won't be free floating. The top appears to be a particle board top, so fixing the issue may not be quite that simple. It's not a show stopper, but it does make gaining rear access a lot more of a challenge. I had a tower computer and a couple of external drives sitting on the top. One of them took a tumble and ended up bouncing on the floor. Fortunately, the drive survived without issue, or this review would have been a one star review. This leads me to my real gripe about this. It should come with casters. a 12u rack loaded can be expected to be very heavy and I have a feeling that my experience may end up being shared by others. A design like this lends itself to a home office or small home recording studio, where someone wouldn't generally want this to be in the middle of a room so both front and rear are easily accessed. I would still recommend it, but if you do get one, be aware of the weakness of the attachment points in the top. ... show more
