Ok finally installed the on demand hot water heater. Installation was easy except my old ten gallon was controlled by a computer in my camper so we had to troubleshoot why we couldn’t get 12v Ended up having to run a separate ground to the panel. The Fogatti on demand hot water heater 50000 BTUs starts up and according to the remote on the wall heats to 125 degrees however at the faucets it’s only warm enough to not be chilled when taking a shower. So if you are like I am and sometimes wants a lobster cooking shower this is not the item for you. However if you want a long warm shower this is it. I found that you must have either hot or cold water as the unit will not turn on unless you have only the hot water on. Meaning no mixing at the faucet. It’s either hot or cold. But it will not scald you no matter how long the hot water runs. Update the unit works great super hot water must have been an air bubble in the unit or something. I’m a full-timer and it worked great this winter. Super hot water and for 20+ minutes. We have never ran out of hot water. Heats up fast. Best purchase ... show more

works great. Did the install myself. had to reconfigure my water lines and gas lines. Took my time, no problems. Needed help to run the control panel wire. unit fired up just like it was supposed to.     • Off-grid hot water solution

Using for an off-grid cabin. Follow other reviews' instructions on installing pressure relief valve. Took me a while to figure out all the parts I needed to make it work for a cabin rather than an RV. Lots of trips back and forth from the hardware store, but alas, it works and water is HOT!!! Wife and I use it for showers and washing dishes. Hooks up to a standard grill tank. NOTE: Use a 100 psi pressure relief valve. NOT the standard 150 PSI valve you commonly find at Lowes or Home Depot. Fogatti sells the right one on Amazon. 12/2022 UPDATE: So, most of the US just went through the deep freeze. During this time, water inside the heater froze causing a part to rupture and water was spraying like crazy inside the unit. I called Fogatti and spoke to an actual person on US soil without a foreign accent. I'd add an extra star for this if i could. I explained the issue and texted them an image of the part that broke and they immediately shipped me out a replacement part! If I were to knock off a start for the part breaking, I'd have to add ot back just because of the customer service. So I still remain at 5 stars for this product. It's actually 6 stars because I spoke to an actual American. 1/2023 UPDATE: Shipping was slow. Very slow. But the part was very easy to replace. While i was waiting for the part to come in, it still made hot water even though it was leaking. Do I still give it a 5 star? Almost. I'd say a 4.9 star. 4/2023 Update: Not sure if I can recommend this anymore. A few days ago the water heater stopped turning on. I connected a multimeter to the 12V batter and am ready 12V. Tested the wires that go from the battery to the unit' still getting 12V. Tested the wires coming from the unit, going into the remote - 0V. Spoke with customer service and they were very pleasant to work with. Again, it was personnright here in the US and not some foreign call center that you can't understand. So anyways, I spoke with the support tech and he asked me to check a few more things and he determined it may be the board that has gone bad. They're shipping me a new one, and while I do appreciate the good customer service, this thing isn't even a year old and it already needs new parts. I do have a 5 year warranty, so I'll he able to get parts for the next 5 years, but after that, if this thing still keeps breaking, I'm going to have to look for a different unit. If Fogatti's units were as superb as their customer service, this would be a 5/5 stars all day. Dropping to a 3 star. It would be a 1 star as far as reliability, but their customer service is so good it brings them up to a 3. If I get these new parts and I don't have any problems anymore, it'll go back to 5 stars if it stays problem free. 6/2023 Update: Git the parts, installed and it wasnt working still. Spoke with Fogatti again. We used the multimeter to see the voltage going into the unit: 11.67V. Apparently this was way to low and it won't turn on. My led lights turned on, but not my water heater. I rewired a few things and got it plugged into my solar power station, sure enough, it's turned on with hot water. It wasn't them after all. I need to calll the technician again so I can confirm he was right. 5 stars again. What a rollercoaster lol 2/2024 UPDATE Since I rewired the water heater to plug directly into the AC solar inverter, I have not had any issues with the unit turning on. Now, if you're using hot water, and suddenly it goes cold and the little black control box starts beeping, turn off the faucet/shower, wait a few seconds, and turn it back on. If it still keeps happening, turn off the faucet/shower, and turn the hot water 3/4 of the way, let it get hot, then turn on all the way. Not sure why I need to do that, but it seems to work. 11/2024 Update: Still no problems since the last update. Wiring this thing to be able to plug directly into a standard wall outlet was the ticket. Significantly less issues with water suddenly going cold. Still happens though, but the trick I used in my previous update still works. Heading into winter now so we'll see if the pipe freezes and explodes again. ... show more

Install was only complicated due to the reduction in size compared to the old tank heater. Had to replumb, which was not a huge deal to do with pex. Water heater was comparable in frame size to old unit on my 06 salem. Minor sanding was needed for fitment. Quality of construction seems good, besides the janky door latch that seems loose. I will say that I am docking 1 star due to inconsistent water temperature. Water never stays a single temp and fluctuates frequently while showering, but it's never an extreme fluctuation to the point of burning or freezing. I will say, if you get an e1 fail code upon start up, try lighting your stove. You will find that the gas line needs to be bled in order to get gas to the unit. Quickest way is to turn on your stove and let the air bleed out through that. Once it actually lights, air should be mostly bled out and you should be good to try the hot water again. Overall, it's a HUGE upgrade over the old 6 gallon tank heater and we enjoy normal length showers! ... show more

It cost me $800 to get someone to come out and install this for me, only to find out the unit is defective and needs to be returned.. Because the seller is not Amazon, (shipper is Amazon), Amazone won't refund my purchase until they receive the unit back int the sellers warehouse, then they have to request a full refund from the seller. This whole process is expected to take 14 days. Amazon is of no help and could care less. The seller, Fogatti, Has no way other then email to be reached, their tech team will not provide a phone number. I spoke with their tech specialist Monday, who walked me through a few tests and then determined this unit is defective. In reading all the reviews (942) i found that at least 39 units have been returned to Fogatti as defective in the past year! Thats 3 per m onth. What it all boils down to is you have a 5% chance of getting a defective unit, and buying through Amazon means you have a huge hassle and long wait before you get your money back. And if you pay an installer, which is recommended, you are going to be out whatever you've paid them because that is not covered. I would strongly recommend, given how many returns they have, that you look at another unit. Because if you're like me and can't afford to buy another $700 plus unit until you receive your refund, you are going to be without hot water for up to a month (from when your current unit goes out) before you have hot water again. ... show more
