  • Works incredibly well!
When I used fly tape, I got excited about catching five or ten flies. This caught thousands of flies in just a few days! The attached picture is of this fly trap completely full after less than a week. All of the black stuff in that bag in the picture is thousands of dead flies! I had a horrible fly problem in my backyard, which is in a suburb in the desert (not where you'd think of as being fly central), and picking up the dog poop every day and hanging tons of strips of fly tape didn't seem to help at all. I still have no idea why we had so many flies. Seeing one of these fill up was very satisfying, though we were still plagued by tons of flies. It took filling about three of these up over a month or so to really solve our problem, and we have almost no flies now. Now, it definitely can stink. We have a small backyard, so we hung it as far away as we could (maybe 20 feet away from our back door/patio), but can still sometimes smell it strongly. It depends on the direction of the wind and the temperature (smells a lot worse when it is hot and sunny). It also takes some time for it to really smell, and gets progressively worse as it fills with flies that begin to decompose. But it isn't a huge deal, because it shouldn't take too many of these bags to get rid of your problem, it may only smell for the second half of the time that you have it hanging (for example, if it takes two weeks to fill, it may only smell for the second week, and then you change it out), and you won't smell it constantly (again, depends on weather and wind direction). Tips for where to hang: 1) Obviously, hang it near where the flies hang out 2) Flies tend to hang out in the warm and sunny part of the backyard. This does work best in the sun (but it will also smell worse in the sun) 3) Flies spend most of their time low to the ground, so it will work best low to the ground. If you can't hang it low, however, it works well enough hung up a little higher 4) If you have dogs, hang it away from their reach!!! Dogs will be dying to get into this because of the smell. And if they get into it, you need to wash the awful smelling liquid off of them. However, because the bait is so attractive to the flies, where you hang it is not as sensitive as where you hang fly tape. I've had some fly tape locations catch ten times as much as locations just a foot or two over. With this stuff, I haven't had an unsuccessful location! ... show more

  • Work Great
Yes it smell bad, so put it away from your home, it will gather so many flies it will blow your mind. Easey to get rid of just take a breath, close the lid and gently deposit into your trash, i use a ziploc bag. Just this product for years.

  • Not as effective as other brands
The product is not as effective as the “Rescue” version. Attracts less flies and the provided twisty tie to secure it is not as strong compared to using actually small rope/twine to hang it up. Other brands you can smell the attractant from a distance, this one is not as strong and runs out quicker than Rescue brand. I have it hanging for almost 2 weeks and there are less than 10 flies in it, with all the flies still flying around, compared to Rescue which the bag would be filling up trapping them. ... show more

  • Bugbane works!!
The product is easy to use. And it works! Just be sure to hang the bags away from the areas frequented by family in the yard. The smells is atrocious but something I am willing to tolerate due to the effective fly control. I highly recommend this product!

  • Fly Trap
The convenience is a plus as it is easy to set up. It took a week or so before I actually saw action in the trap. I still don't smell a strong odor but one of them is working well and the other not so well. I will be interested in seeing how long they attract flies or fill up and have to be replaced. ... show more

  • Works immediately
Easy to set up and directions are straight forward. I’ve only left it out for a few hours and it’s already filled with flies. My neighbor has a fruit tree and it attracts so many flies. This is the only product that so far decreased the amount of flies in my backyard.

  • NOPE!! Better Options Avail…
Ok, I have been using fly bags (yellow / green ones) for 3 yrs. These were less expensive and reviewed well enough for me to give it a shot in hopes of saving money. They do attract flies but NO where near as well as the yellow / green bag competitors. As in about half as many flies trapped. So here is the difference…. The yellow / green bags smell like rotten fish and it isn’t pleasant. BUT these babies smell like a grown man with digestive issues went against their better judgement and hit up Taco Bell for a massive Taco Tuesday feast and experienced explosive repercussions. Take that and bake it in the hot sun and even the flies are like… “Nope” where are those fish bags lady?? These have the most repulsive smell (the yellow / green bags stink too but NOT like this hot mess). Who knew flies preferred fish over a stanky crap bag?? Well… they do. So I will be buying the more expensive bags moving forward. No one wants company coming over and wondering who crapped their pants while sitting on the patio. 😂 ... show more

  • Get Ready for a Bag Full of Flies!
I had one of these bags next to a Raid brand bag. This one is loaded with flies, like a few inches deep, while the Raid bag caught hardly any flies. Sure, the bag stinks, but that’s what it takes to attract flies. I will definitely buy these again and recommend them to anyone with a fly problem in their yard. ... show more
