I recently purchased the BugBane Outdoor Fly Traps to tackle the fly problem on my patio. Let me tell you, these traps are like the Pied Piper for flies! Within just a day, I noticed a significant decrease in the number of flies buzzing around. I was impressed with how many flies these traps managed to catch in such a short time. The traps are easy to set up; you simply cut around the dotted line, pull up the cap, fill it with water, and hang it outside. The flies are drawn to the traps by the smell and color, and once they enter, they get stuck inside. The design is quite effective, and the natural bait made of fish, egg, and bran is pet-friendly, so I didn't have to worry about my dog gobbling it down. However, I must warn you that these traps can emit a pungent smell, especially when they start filling up with flies. So, I'd recommend hanging them away from your living area to avoid any unpleasant odors. TLDR: It works. Flies love it. Less flies outside means less flies make it inside. Hang it far away from doors, windows and outdoor areas you use because the smell is truly diabolical. If you buy this put it at least 20' away from all windows and doors that you use and out of reach of dogs. Thankfully the smell doesn't travel TOO far because it smells so bad it will make you want to throw up. For real. I can't even describe it. It's the worst thing I've ever smelled. We put ours on the far side of the garage - far from doors, windows and outdoor areas we actually use. So, the smell doesn't bother us there. First we had it in the backyard but our dog was obsessed with it. Idk if it was all the files buzzing around in there or the horrible smell but he would not leave it alone. Where we live there's a "fly season" from mid July to mid August. All the flies hatch in the mud flats and bogs and it's just awful. Every time you open a door 10 flies come in. But not this year! I hung 1 of these starting in June and change it out every time it's full. Now we're at the height of fly season and we've only had a couple in the house. This is a massive improvement. There is a noticeable and significant reduction in flies outside and so only a couple real sneaky ones have got inside. ... show more

    • Great product if you can stand the smell
I got a pack of 4. I used 2 of them around the backyard of my house and we left for a long trip. When we came back both packets were full with flies and they had a very bad odor. I thought that because of the dead flies the odor increased. I tossed the 2 used ones and placed the new ones. Next day I was working at my backyard and from the smell I thought a raccoon or possum pooped somewhere, so I got on a search to find the poop and pick it up because the smell was awful. Could not find anything, and could not pinpoint were the smell was coming from (smelled like someone/ something pooped. Because of the smell could not stay in my backyard thinking if its poop it will dry by next day and smell will go away or diminish (we live in Southern California. Next day same smell, my stomach could not take. Realized that the smell came from these products- although 2 days with the new product and were a lot of flies in. I moved the packets far-far away but still the smell was intense. I tossed them the next garbage day. The product WORKS great but the foul smell is unbearable. Sad to say but I will not purchase this product again even though it works. ... show more

    • These fly traps work
I have dogs and cats who poop at the back of my garden. We clean it up regularly, of course, but it attracts many flies. We have a pretty sitting area here and we love to entertain but don’t like the flies so I got these to get rid of them. They work great and trap many flies, but the liquid in the bags stinks- of course to attract the flies. I will probably move the bags when we have company so they don’t have to smell it. ... show more
