Right out of the box I was disappointed! The unit is packaged for compact shipping which I totally agree with. I was excited that it had arrived and I was prepared - as a newbie - to do this right. My first metal detector and believe me I watched an extensive variety of detectors via YT videos to be certain I would get the most for my money. I decided this Fisher 75+ was an excellent model to begin my detecting adventures. As soon as I raised the main frame of the detector from the box I noticed a difference from the advertised image which also matched the image on the box it was packaged in, however, the unit lacked the holes necessary for adjusting the arm rest. The photo images I've seen - show the holes for adjusting, but my unit appears to be non-adjustable for a short arm person such as myself. When I placed my right arm into position as if to begin the swing from side to side, my elbow is positioned in the arm rest so my elbow gets the weight and balance but my bicep gets leveraged in the cradle, and I realized this doesn't feel right for me. Now what am I to do??? The unit is a work of art and probably operates like a fine tuned watch, but I already don't like the feel of it. Surely there is an option for me. At least if a 6'5" person sat inside a compact car the seat would position for comfort. On this point, I find it ridiculous for people to give poor marks for things like "I ordered the wrong one" or "decided this was to expensive". But this review doesn't fall into that category. I had no control over this design modification and I was not given any reference that it could be at all different than how it was photographically presented to me in the marketing advertisements. I'm not going to send it back because I still think I have every reason to believe this is the best detector for the money I've spent. But I can't help wondering how long it will be that I don' like driving this model and have full blown regrets. You might notice in the image I've provided, the arm rest is fully back as far as it will go and no holes for adjustment, as shown in the user manual, packaging image, promotional images, and even the YT videos I've watched - bummer. ... show more
