  • replaced a gas powered model and this is more powerful
Size: 16-Inch, 13.5-Amp
I replaced a gas powered model due to oil, gas, and noise. I did not expect as much power or consistency out of the electric model. And as usual I am absolutely wrong about this electric tiller. Scotts hit the proverbial nail on the head with this design and powerful electric engine. The first time I used the tiller I was almost knocked on my a$$. It was that strong. I did not heed the abundant warnings on holding, preparation, and safety, thinking no electric Tiller is that good, and strong. After I got up and collected my thoughts I had a new and very well deserved respect for Scotts and this Electric tiller. While the noise level is high but not annoyingly so, the tiller is stronger than the craftsman I am replacing. It digs deep and consistent and better than the gas model with none of the mess. I guess if I want to get really picky, the electric cord can be a bit bothersome, but no more than hauling gas and oil around all day. I know there are battery powered units but I wanted to have as much time as possible without have to change batteries or worse, wait till one charges. But even that is getting to be more convenient now. I have no complaints about this machine, that does as much and more than my gas powered one with none of the mess. Scotts did a great job on the design and manufacture of this superb machine. joe ... show more

  • Easy assembly, works perfectly
Size: 16-Inch, 13.5-Amp
A Phillips-head screwdriver is all you need. The instructions were simple and effective. I used it in a area untilled fro several years. It needed a little horsing but resulted in a very nicely cultivated space. Won’t be like that next time. I can pick it up with the built-in handle. Would recommend

  • Electric tiller works!
Size: 16-Inch, 13.5-Amp
This electric tiller works better than I expected. It will dig and turn dirt over, blend in mulch, and prepare soil for gardens or lawn planting. it is easier to use than a gasoline tiller, starts every time! It has enough power for even clay, poor soil. I do not know how it will hold up for large projects. You do need a cord. I use a 12 gauge cord so that it will handle the amps required, without overheating the motor. For long runs, a 10 amp cord is recommended. ... show more

  • Update ! Purchased in 2021 !
Size: 16-Inch, 13.5-Amp
2 years so far and this thing is a beast still. Sometimes I think I was put here to destroy machines . I'm not gentle on them . 2 years 20 x20 garden . I cover my garden in fall with tarps then till in spring . I have a rocky patch and I just turn this thing loose on it and it plows through . Hops and jumps but does not bog down . I figured for the price if I could save my back 1 maybe 2 years I got my money's worth .but clearly I have atleast 2 more years with it . Probably more unless next year it shows signs of slowing but I don't predict that too happen. Lightweight easy to handle and powerful for a lil electric mower . ( and I'm very pro dinosaur fuel guy ) so I'm not trying to promote green Anything but my garden. If you are hesitant , don't be it's a great lil machine . ... show more

  • Amazing!!!
Size: 16-Inch, 13.5-Amp
This little machine packs a powerful punch! When I first got it put together my husband and I both were skeptical as to whether it would do the job. I have to say, I am completely amazed at how easy it is to use. I have a spot I want to use as a garden. It is horrible clay. As the old saying goes, dynamite comes in small packages!!! When it first hits the hard clay it does have a little bit of a bounce to it. But, once it got a good hold on that dirt, it went to town and chewed it up like it was nothing!! I had to tell my brother about this as soon as I got back inside. He is going to order one too. ... show more

  • Awesome!
Size: 16-Inch, 13.5-Amp
I absolutely LOVE this little tiller! It's super easy to use and I love that I don't have to mess with mixing fuel. It has plenty of power, though I do wish I could adjust the length of the handle. I'm 5'2" and it's probably a bit too high for my grip. But that sure didn't stop me from getting these beds worked up. I have redone all my flowerbeds and even in the clay it worked great. Would definitely recommend it! ... show more

  • Awesome!
Size: 16-Inch, 13.5-Amp
I was hesitant to buy an electric tiller of this size but I took a chance with all the great reviews. It was $135 to rent a gas powered unit for a half day from my local equipment rental/hardware store so I decided to try this instead. I could not believe how easily it tore up my lawn to prepare it for sod. My lawn was established but beat up a bit and the ground was reasonably hard. It was no problem for this tiller and made quick work of turning up the soil. If you are on the fence about it, don’t be, you won’t be disappointed. ... show more

  • Great foot massager
Size: 16-Inch, 13.5-Amp
This is not a replacement for a serious tiller needed for large jobs and tough soil, but for small home gardens you can use this to turn a yard that is almost all clay into plantable soil. It will be slow and difficult, but possible. In terms of power and durability, you can dig up lots of stones the size of a softball without much of an issue, bit also not without bending the tines a bit. You will also want thread locker and make sure every bolt is firmly secure before you use it. The one for the wheel bar came out so I need to get a new nut for it. I wish they used locking nuts on it, but for the price I have no complaints. If your yard is all clay and stones like mine, I'd say rent a rear tiller from a hardware store and go to town on your yard, and then buy something like this one to maintain it and retill it each year. ... show more
