    • Good for casual, infrequent fires

Like many people I started using fire pits during the pandemic. And I learned a few things. First of all, do not - I repeat, do NOT - use the inside a screened tent! Second, fire pits are exposed to - fire. And then, often, to water. Which means they tend to fall apart easily. You can't really blame them. It's not their fault. So this fire pit is the answer to a need I have, which is to have occasional casual fires on my back deck (NOT in the screened tent!) with friends. And by "fire", I mean one of those logs you buy in the grocery store and light with a match. It might work fine with more woodsy fires, but that is not my style. I want the fire mostly for ambiance, not so much for heat. It is easy (enough) to assemble and is just the right size for me - remember, I just need one of those premade logs. And I love that it has the screen so I don't have to worry about sparks flying off into the leaves and causing a much bigger fire. If you can, I'd recommend moving this to a garage or other covered space when not in use (only after the embers are COMPLETELY extinguished, obviously) to minimize wear and tear from the elements. Because another thing I learned the hard way is that it is extremely difficult to dispose of a rusty fire pit! In my case it requires a trip to the county dump. So better to keep it in good shape as long as you can. I've only had this one a short time but will update if it manages to last more than one season (no other fire pit that I've had has done so). ... show more

We are going on a camping trip in a couple of months. Normally we put up tents but we got a camper. One thing that frustrates me with campfires is, if the ground is wet, it’s next to impossible to start a campfire. You can buy dry firewood, but there isn’t much you can do about wet ground. Since we have a camping trailer, we have a little more room to store things, so we decided to get a firepit, for those times the ground is wet, and we cannot start a fire. This thing is easy to put together and take apart. You screw the legs onto the rings, and the bowl just sits in the middle. I am not a fan of the fact that the bowl isn’t secure. I would be happier if there was a way to secure it to the legs. Maybe a clamp of some sort? It will work, and I am probably worrying over nothing. Anyway, I do like the build. It’s not too heavy, but it doesn’t feel cheap either. It also comes with a poker. I think it will work just fine for our needs. I would recommend this to someone who wants a fire pit that can be put away and easily stored. ... show more

I was a little disappointed by this fire pit. The metal feels thin and flimsy. I appreciate that the pit bowl is removable for cleaning but I don't like that it cannot be secured to the stand. It was easy to assemble and it all went together without much fuss. It only came with an allan wrench with a phillips head screws. You'll need your own tool to hold the nut to properly secure everything. It also includes a poker. While 'BBQ grill' is listed in the item name, this is not a grill. What I liked about it: It beats setting a fire directly on the ground. What I didn't like: Not a great value for the build quality. Pit bowl cannot be secured to stand. Overall, I only recommend this if other options are more expensive. ... show more

The fire pit takes 20 minutes to assemble. I only had to use a Phillips screwdriver. It comes with a spark screen, a log grate, and a nice poker. It is lightweight and easy to carry. This fire pit is durable and sturdy enough to enjoy a fire in the backyard. Keep in mind that the weight limit is 30 lbs, so you won’t be burning bonfires of big logs. But for most people, a nice cozy fire is all that is desired or needed. I was able to burn several large pieces of wood, and roast some marshmallows for s’mores. That is my definition of a good night. The legs are stable, and will not tip over easily, like some fire pits I have used in the past. There were six people in our group, and everyone could feel enough warmth from the fire pit. I think with proper care it will last several years. ... show more

We like the look of this fire pit, it sits up off the ground, the grates are good sizes apart, and the metal is painted black like iron. The bottom doesn't have holes in it so your fire won't go through the bottom, but that also means if it rains you will have to dump the water out or it will get rusty. I like that it has a lid, that makes it look kind of finished instead of just an open grill style, and it keeps any of the embers from popping out. ... show more
