The build quality is made out of good plastic materials. The foam feels good, and the buttons and knobs feel exceptional. This has a mount connected to it to attach it to the included desk stand or boom arm. The screw mount is your standard 3/8’’ and 5/8’’ thread screw for microphone stands. This mic features a headphone jack to monitor audio, a gain knob to adjust mic volume, and a quick tap to mute. You can use this as a stand-alone USB mic or use an XLR interface for better audio quality. There are RGB effect modes to toggle to match your setup. There is no latency when monitoring your audio. But keep in mind that the only volume this effects is your voice going into the mic, so no other audio is affected going through your computer. The pickup pattern for this mic is cardioid, so the mic lessens the sounds around it, mostly picking up from the front capsule. This microphone is perfect for beginners, as you can plug and play with a USB connection or improve the sound quality with XLR input down the line when you want to upgrade. I love the gamer look of this mic and build. Pros: Simple to use plug-and-play microphone. Cool RGB colors that are customizable. Volume and gain knobs. Sound quality vs. budget price. Cons: We only have a black mount option, so a white or pink color will not completely match. I spent quite a while looking at different inexpensive dynamic mics for an upcoming presentation. Eventually it was between the AM8 and the K688, and I decided to go with the AM8 seeing as they use the same sensors, but the AM8 is cheaper and looks better. Aesthetically pleasing, and the audio quality seems to be acceptable. The mute button works really well, although it can be easy to press accidentally when you're adjusting the mic, and the LED mute indicator can be hard to see at the angle the mic will usually sit. Just something to be conscious of, and not a real problem. The audio feedback jack on the mic is really quiet even at max volume, which others have said is due to needing a low impedance headset to hear well. I would probably just use whatever mic check your computer has rather than relying on the mic's built-in feedback. ... show more

I love this mic so much! The design for this mic is simple but does wonders. I’ve had friends compliment the crisp and clean sound it gives off. Not only did I ditch my old mic, but I have influenced others to ditch their mic and switch to this mic. Talking about the price, it is very affordable, and I am super happy with this purchase. The only downside is I would have to unplug it as it is still on when I shut down my computer. Overall, if you are interested in this mic, I would highly suggest whether you are a beginner, pro streamer, or just looking for a mic that will surprise you. ... show more

I already had the black AM8 when it first came out and I said in my review if they made a white one I would buy it. Here I am finding out randomly they actually made it so I went and got it ASAP. It’s the same as the original but it matches my pc setup(minus the grey windsock but I swapped the black one I had on the black mic) The sound quality can’t be beat for the price, I’ve tested many budget mics and my favorite ones have been all Fifine mics. It’s very light for the type of mic it is but has enough heft in it where it doesn’t feel cheap at all. It was easy to set up on my low end boom arm with springs but as soon as I can afford it I plan to get the Fifine boom arm without springs for a low profile professional look and feel. On the current more flimsy boom arm it doesn’t weigh down or unwantedly move my boom arm down. It’s a decent size mic but comparable to more professional and expensive mics in size The mic itself performs well. I use it in XLR mode because I’m a stickler for quality but the mic handles just fine in usb mode. I use a budget external audio mixer with 48v phantom power(which strangely this mic doesn’t need in XLR mode but still can work with) but I see Fifine also has an audio mixer suited toward gaming and live-streaming that I might be interested in but would definitely pick up if the make a version with more XLR ports. This microphone is truly good. I chose this one because I was searching for a dynamic microphone to reduce some of my background noise and have the capability to upgrade to XLR later on. Mic sounds flawless and has a very nice pink grey and black color palette. Absolutely stunning.

Easy to set up, just plug it right in to any mixer, (but I DO recommend the Fifine Mixer) *If you don't have a mixer and/or not in the market for one then you can use the mic with USB instead of XLR. It still has its great sound quality but more convenient for you.* The sound quality is absolutely amazing, it's so crispy, it sounds just as good as any premium mic that would usually cost you 3x the price, you could never tell that the mic is only $65. The mic has RGB at the end of it, its so easy to switch the colors, and turn it off if you wanted. If you're using it with the USB instead of XLR you can control the volume of your mic, the gain, and mute all from right on the mic. This mic is super good looking, the quality feels super nice and sounds amazing! The one thing is, is that on amazon i wasnt able to find if an xlr cord was include; it was not.
