    • Cheap, easy, does the job
This shoe rack is dirt cheap and I got it on sale which knocked off a few more dollars. After taxes it was still less than twenty bucks. At that price, there's not much to complain about as long as the product arrives as pictured and does what it is supposed to do. It predictably feels and looks cheap and weighs nothing, shipping in a remarkably tiny box that's probably just over a foot long and no bigger than five inches at any of the other dimensions. Fully assembled, it holds two pairs of average sized shoes (size 10 men for me) on each of its 10 tiers. The side-by-side width is a little narrow. With some angling you can put two pairs of mens sneakers on each tier but it will be a little tight. Height-wise, things like chukka boots or Vans "Sk8-Hi" sneakers will barely fit. Anything taller will only fit on the top tier. The shelves are a flimsy nylon material but once assembled they're rigid enough for light items. It works. I have it on a carpeted floor in a corner where nothing will bump into it and it doesn't really sway around. That being said there's no real sturdiness to it because it's so light and if you have it out in the open, it can be tipped over easily. I like the fact that it has a small footprint if I ever need to toss it. I can just disassemble the whole thing and it probably can fit in a grocery store bag. So by design, it's not really sturdy but because of that it's easy to move and throw away if you need to and for what it does it costs nothing. It's very easy to assemble with just a tiny sheet of paper being the only documentation that ships with it. No tools are required. Just make sure the 'long end' of the joints are pointing in the right direction. It also should go without saying but the instructions emphasize not placing the shoe rack in direct sunlight or rain/water. This is probably because the plastic construction of the rack will warp/soften in these conditions. The trickiest part is probably making sure the rods are fully inside the joints. If you're rushing you can probably put the whole thing together in less than half an hour. If you're really taking your time and planning to anchor the rack to a wall, it shouldn't take any longer than a few hours. If you do plan to anchor it, you will need to provide your own hardware. The rack and a couple spare joints are the only items included. ... show more

Easy to setup. Instructions were Easy to understand. Seems sturdy enough. However, please note that the shelves are not solid. They sag under almost anything I put on them. Light weight items are not a problem. Flat items are perfect. I choose this for several plastic models, trains. Robots and similar items. The distance between shelves works out well. In a few cases the items on lower shelves push up and contact the upper shelves and either helps stabilize or destabilize the items above. Just know what being creative with the unit can be a little more interesting than straight forward shelving. That being said. It works for me. I'm enjoying displaying my favorite gadgets. The media could not be loaded. I would have to say that I'm in the middle on this review. Compared to many shelving units available and what they offer, this is certainly the one for a person on a tight budget. However, it does a few setbacks. PROS: Lightweight, Simple Construction (Provided instructions aren't that great btw), and Slightly customizable. It has potential to fit in many places around the home. No tools are required. Supports moderate weight. A few extra connectors are included. The material seems like it will be easy to clean. These combine for a fairly versatile application. CONS: Very fragile tubing. "Shelves" are merely fabric and will bow when any significant weight is applied. It is very top heavy, so beware placing heavy objects. It is very low to the ground and might be problematic for some people. This also makes cleaning underneath a potential issue. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase.
