With this guitar I find the playability extremely amazing, sounds great with every single genre even metal! This guitars somehow has the abilities of playing like a humbucker a lot of times. The quality you receive is beyond insane with properly leveled frets, and along with its ease of setup it took me about 30 minutes to build with a screwdriver and a wrench. Appearance wise is wow, I can’t say I’m not in love with it as I don’t use my other guitars much anymore due to this one. The media could not be loaded. The kit came complete, tuners were cheap but functional. The neck was good, but make sure that it settles to your region's weather. The tremolo that came with it works perfect with the rest of the kit. Once set up, this is a very good guitar. The body needs no paint, since it has a sealer coat, plus the grain is very nice. The pickguard only lines up with the drill guides, if you swap it you will need to change the guides around. Good for a beginner guitar, or a mod platform. Got the TL style and I am very happy! I bought it to use for a project. I only used the body, neck, and bridge and it took all parts added except for the Fender Bridge that I already had, which, surprisingly, doesn't line up with the pickguard for Squire Strats, either. Go figure. I did work on the frets which were a little sharp, but all other parts were easily applied and the wood looks great without any varnish or paint. I added a loaded pickguard, input jack, and tuners, which were also purchased through Amazon. It's a cool building platform with all the parts needed to assemble your guitar if you choose to use them. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This was such a fun build for me. I wanted to try my hand at finishing a guitar. I went for a distressed look, which was a real challenge to do but was made easier with the quality of wood. It would have been a nice looking guitar had I just put it together, but it turned out to be a beautiful guitar with some hard work. The hardware and electronics aren't the best but I expected that. I'll upgrade them. But for now this has become my daily player. It sounds great despite the sub lar oickuos. It does fall out of tune more than I'd like but replacing the hardware will resolve that. ... show more

This DIY guitar kit is well worth the $89 I paid for it. The body is beautiful. I'm going to keep it natural because the wood grain looks great. The whole thing is very well made. It was easy to assemble. Everything lined up perfectly. For $89 you can't go wrong with this.

Bought this to learn some things about guitar construction. It was fun. But... you will note in the seller's description that the kit was preassembled and then taken apart to ensure things would go well with assembly. This is false as the pilot holes were just that and had never had anything screwed into them. Aside from false advertising, it was fun and I learned a lot. Now, as for quality issues... the tuners are wretched, and the pickups, though not noisy (I was surprised) sound like tin cans with string tied between them. The neck's not bad, and the frets are actually quite good, not sharp on the ends. The body is nice with cavities nicely routed. All in all, in looks pretty nice. Now... I plan to really have some fun with serious modding. Would I buy one of these again? Yeah. For $99.95 I was impressed with the outcome, better than I expected. Been playing for 48 years. This was my first attempt at a full on kit and I'm glad I did it. ... show more
