First of all I want to make it clear that I am not affiliated with this company whatsoever and I am not getting paid for this review. I'm going to start out by saying I read a bunch of reviews before purchasing this leg machine. Those who said you feel this works one leg first or one leg more, that is all in your head and you simply do not understand the engineering and physics of how this design works. Just because the weight is on one side of the machine, it doesn't mean that one leg works harder or first. The bar that is attached to the mechanism of which the weights go on evenly distributes the weight to both legs. You can even test this by pushing with one leg first a little bit harder and you can feel That it works both legs evenly and at the same time. Now that that is out of the way you can't beat this machine for the price. It is very easy to assemble. It is very robust feeling. No bending or anything anywhere. The gauge of the steel is plenty heavy enough for this machine. This machine is very adjustable from my wife who is 4'11 and works for someone who is 6'. My only complaint is the cheap plastic square pieces at the end of the box tubing where the pad goes on to hold your legs down is junk. One of the square pieces of plastic broke the first time I used it so I just threw it in the garbage. Really it's not a big deal though. Man, I love this machine. It's really solid and was easy to put together. The holes line up perfectly, and I'd swear the machining was done in the US. I was ready to pay twice as much for this quality setup--luckily I didn't have to. I have bad knees, so squats and lunges are OUT. So I needed a leg extension machine to make up what I couldn't do otherwise. This definitely fits the bill. So some info. that you won't get with the ad or other reviews: 1) If you're using standard 1" hole 25 lb. plates, you can get 6 of them on there (150 lbs.) I do this with both legs for up to 20 reps, depending on how exhausted my legs are. So if you have strong legs, expect to either do high reps or just one-leg extensions (which are fine with this solid machine) until you reach a level of exhaustion. 2) I love how you can offset the fact that weight is less on the early upswing--which is a problem with any extension machine that isn't cabled. Luckily, on this machine, you can set the pads waaay back and slide your ankles behind them for full movement. See pic. 3) If you do 150lbs. or more on extensions, you'll feel the back end start to raise up, so when doing that much weight or more, put weight on the back end on the bar behind the seat. 4) I just took off the weight swing stopper completely (It's the thick, short bar that keeps the weights from going back when you let them down). You'll see it removed in the second pic. That way I can switch between extensions and curls with no problem. Is it a safety concern? Not that I've found. 5) I do 6 sets of extensions and 6 sets of curls for a full leg workout. I use a pulley-based system for curls as I've found that you gotta add like a towel or something to avoid chafing on this machine for leg curls. If I didn't have the cable system, I'd use this one for leg curls, no problem. So all in all, I'm quite pleased with this machine. You won't go wrong with this one. ... show more

3.5 stars. Packaging: basically parts thrown in a box with some heavier card board and styrofoam that may have been in place to do some good initially. Looked like a bowl of spaghetti after transport, however. Handful of scratches, marring and imperfections on the tubes may be the result of packing. Brittle plastic end caps, found one destroyed while unboxing. Only used a bit after setting up. Feels solid enough with only 75lbs on it. Plenty of adjustability to fit me at 5’8” & 165 and to overcome some of the range of motion issues inherent in the design. As some have mentioned, the bar you push or pull on with your ankles needs to be at least 2 to 3” longer. With my ankles and legs a comfortable distance apart, It feels like my right ankle/leg may slip off bc it’s close to the end. We’ll see how that works out when i use it for a workout. The plastic end caps that hold the foam on the leg hold downs are useless. They don’t stay in the bar ends. The one that holds the longer ankle foam on secures in the bar end fine. The foam fits tight enough on the bars and don’t seem like they’ll come off without them on. Overall, the plastic end caps used are useless, one has come out with adjustment…as they break or come off, I’ll leave them off as they will not impact function. The end caps on the bars which contact the floor are fine and seem secure. I wouldn’t pay a penny over the price I bought it for. I think the only real complaint in the long run will be that the ankle bar is too short. ... show more

I put this together from the manual and it was easy - high quality, durable. Had a minor issue with plastic parts and the seller was super responsive. I"m 6'3" and i still fit in it (barely but I didn't read it was for up to 6' which is my bad). I recommend it, works well for a home/garage gym. sturdy if you throw a plate or two on the back to stabilze. Works well from the front (extensions) or back (curls). ... show more
