    • Spring assembly too large for my Schwinn trailer - other than that satisfied
I lost my hitch for my Schwinn trailer and tried to replace the assembly with a this one. The problem with this assembly is that the spring assembly for this hitch is wound with a diameter that doesn't allow it to get inserted into the Schwinn aluminum tube - hence you can not mount it. I (had to) re-used the previous assemblies spring instead. It was a bit rusty and bent and I would have like to replace it as well... but I couldn't get this spring into the tube and measuring it - it is about 1/16'' larger than the inner diameter of my trailer's tube - and there is nothing you can do to get it in! Other than that it seems all dimensions match and frankensteining in the old spring worked fine. So it is a bit of a standardization problem - and one can blame this manufacturer or Schwinn - not sure what advice to give, I didn't see any precise measurements and the average person may not have a tool/caliper to measure the existing scenario on their trailer anyways - I do and would have.
