  • Excellent trailer!
The day after I received this item I hurt my knee and haven't yet been able to use it; however, we unpacked it and put it together. It was really easy to assemble and then to disassemble and store. ALL the packaging except for one little plastic tie and a 1" foam tube was recyclable - AWESOME! It seems fairly straightforward to attach it to my bike, with a small piece that goes on the bike and stays there. The trailer "hitch" then pops into that when I want to tow it. I have a cruiser bike, so I have yet to see how it fits with my particular bike, but it seems like it will be okay. It also smells really strongly of rubber or plastic - but I think it's the rubber on the wheels. We put them away separately to air them out a bit. I have one child for whom this was intended, but it ends up that my son (9 years old and 55 pounds) could actually fit in it if he had to. The instructions say not to have a child over 50 pounds in it to avoid an imbalance of weight, so I wouldn't PLAN on doing this. BUT in an emergency it would totally work. It feels well-built and I'm really looking forward to using it. I'll update this later if anyone wants to know how it works with my bike... UPDATE - I've been using it and it's great. It works great with my bike - and I think it would work with any bike. My kids love it. I've even stuffed my son in it and it was fine. It's easy to ride with, it fits through all the spaces my bike fits through. I've ridden my bike with and without it and feel no difference - it's really great. We love it. At first I was taking the wheels off, folding it up and keeping it in its box for ease in storing it. Now I just fold it up and leave the wheels on - it fits standing up on end right next to our bikes. Couldn't be happier! ... show more

  • Great quality trailer
Style: Echo Size: 2 Seat Color: Yellow
I was hesitant to purchase this site-unseen but based on the other reviews I went ahead and took the chance. Once we received it I pulled it out of the box and set it up in about 3 minutes. I only looked at the instructors after the fact to make sure I had done everything correctly. The set up is crazy easy. I love the pop in, pop off wheels. One of my favorite details is where the extra buckles are for the 2nd passenger: they have little padded covers to put over the unused buckles so that they won't be digging into your child's legs. It's very easy to convert between 1 passenger or 2-you just flip some straps around. It folds down really nice and small so I'm sure this could fit in the trunk or even backseat of even the most compact cars. The only negative I can think of is that there is little ventilation in the trailer, and that material is not breathable, so depending on the weather outside your little one could get pretty sweaty. Mind you I received this in July, in Texas, so I think my little guy would have been sweating either way. Now that the weather is in the 80's he seems pretty comfortable back there in shorts and a t-shirt. I didn't think the trailer was too heavy at all. I have a big ol' 29er mountain bike and the trailer is not cumbersome in any way. Attaching the trailer was super easy also. I have the quick release tires and it took me just a few minutes to get the trailer on. There are several YouTube videos that can help you if you are unsure of the posotioning. This trailer is a great value and I'm very glad I didn't spend more money on the higher end brands. This one is great and I'm sure it will be around until my son outgrows it. ... show more

  • Not sure what else you'd want in a trailer (besides shocks and cupholders)
Style: Echo Size: 2 Seat Color: Yellow
I shopped all around, read articles, reviews, and even looked on CraigsList. I ended up buying this Schwin Echo Double Bike trailer. I got the double (even though I only needed a single) because the wider trailer seems more stable and roomy. For the price I was worried I was going to be let down, but I was not. I can't say I've experience a lot of bike trailers but here's why this one was perfect for me: 1) My little guy is 3 yrs/old, about 38" tall and 30'ish pounds. He sits perfectly comfortable in this trailer and I can probably get a few years before he outgrows it. 2) It was a snap to put together and looks very nice. 3) It has spoked wheels and rubber tires = smooth ride. 4) Once setup its easy to get on/off the bike (takes 3 seconds). I'm a weekend rider and didn't want to drop hundreds of dollars on a trailer I might only use 50 times in my life. I'm very happy with the purchase and would definitely suggest getting this one. It doesn't have a suspension so it's mainly for on-road use (not a big deal since most people won't go offroad with a kid in tow). When I bought this there were barely any reviews on it, so I was a little nervous. So I feel obligated to write this review for other people. It's a great trailer, especially for the price. No regrets. Not sure why this isn't way more popular, but I suspect it will be. Hopefully they won't raise the price for those who didn't get it yet ;). The only minor downside - which seems to be mentioned in the reviews for most every bike trailer - the kid's head gets pushed a little forward with a helmet on. The netting in the back is snug so if the helmet sticks out in back it will cause their head to push forward slightly. It's not terrible or anything, but I just ended up getting a sleeker helmet that didn't have the big back on it. Now all is good. You also could probably put a pillow behind the child's back to compensate a little so their head can lean back a little. ... show more
