  • Works great!
I purchased this for my Canon EOS 6D Mark ll, and it's performed as described. I was "gifted", some 20 years ago, by my father, an old suitcase that contained various newspaper pages covering the building of Treasure Island, in SFO Bay, the start of WWII and many other 1937-1945 articles about SFO. This worked to power my camera during video recording the opening of the suitcase (so that I wasn't accused, by any of my brothers, of hiding any early CTR or IBM stock certificates) and sorting of the clippings. I've used it for "about" 18 hours now, with no issues. • Works great with my 5D Mark II
The one thing you need to know is that you still must close the battery compartment in order for the adapter to work. This is really fantastic for static shots or shooting content at home. I no longer have to worry about having a million charged batteries.

  • Works perfectly with Canon 90D – Connectors are intentionally different
I've read some reviews that this doesn't work with 90D and other models because the connectors are different. The connectors are different by design, and this product works perfectly. The battery lid must close for it to work, and there is a flap on the 90D where the cable comes out to allow the lid to snap shut. This after market product works great, is much cheaper than the OEM version, and I recommend it. ... show more

  • Great value for the money
I bought this because I use my camera in a studio a lot and continuous charging of batteries was a hassle. This device has proved to be much more convenient and has worked very well. I have a Canon 5D MkII with the BG-E6 battery grip (which I adore). The adapter fits right into the grip with no problems and powers the camera flawlessly. The only downside is if you are running studio lights and other powered accessories, it's another cord to trip over. Fortunately, the cord is actually pretty long, but I use an extension, anyway. Considering the Canon-brand version of this is well over $100 (and is of probably far better construction) this still works fine, so far. UPDATE Oct 1, 2020: Still going strong, hasn't had a single bit of trouble. ... show more

  • Straight out the box, it doesn't work
I wanted a dummy battery for my canon 80D, but straight out the box, it doesn't work. I waited a while to see if the dummy battery needed to charge or something, but it just doesn't work, period. The materials feel cheap. I am super disappointed. I will be returning.

  • Finally able to stream/record for hours without worries of dead batteries
Got tired of charging multiple batteries just to do live streams while using my 80D as a Webcam but didn't want to sacrifice quality by getting a Webcam that wouldn't offer the image quality or versatility of my DSLR. This dummy battery was a perfect fit for the 80D from Canon, though the only slight hiccup is that the batter leading from the dummy battery to the power brick might be a little thick so the battery door slightly bulges out (but still latches shut allowing the camera to see the door is shut and allowing to power on). If you're looking for a means of continuous power to your Canon camera, then definitely invest the money into this product. ... show more

  • You need this in your life.
I've been shooting video with DSLR cameras for a while now and just recently realized this was a thing. Interviews often require scene re-shot and many times I'm having back-to-back assignment. I don't always remember to charge my batteries. This helps eliminate that if i'm able to cord up nearby. I also have a studio space where my camera is stationed on a tripod often enough that this is part of my semi-permanent workflow. ... show more
