  • Great features and price
This works perfectly on my camera rig! I have many port requirements for USB and barrel connections and this fits the role.

  • The Almost Perfect Battery Plate for Me.
The media could not be loaded. The connectivity on this base plate is extremely versatile in terms of voltage output, which is fantastic. I understand that Dtap is the industry standard for this, and for those looking for something versatile in that regard, this isn’t it. However, it is fantastic in terms of what it offers for someone who knows what their rig will look like 90% of the time. I can power my camera monitor, audio recorder and so much more using just the DC barrel jacks and usb ports while still leaving the Dtap open in case I need it. Here’s my one complaint: The battery release latch is unreasonably large. For those using a DSLR with a flip out screen, you might find yourself wanting to fold the screen to the side (see picture) to make it flush, I ended up mounting the plate offset by one of the 2 bolts that attach to the bottom of the unit. When I do this, it improves the ability to fold the screen to the side, however it is not flush. My bonus complaint (and this is mildly nit picky) is that it would be nice if the battery release lever had a rubber top to not scratch the screen of people using it in this application. If you wanna see an example of this, check out the “Camera Foundry Cineback for FX3” they account for this exact use case and have rubber there to protect the screen from scratches and keep it flush to the rig. TLDR. Great battery plate for certain users. Make the lever much shorter, make the end rubber or soft material. ... show more

  • Versatile V-mount plate
While it's also one of the largest V-mount plates I have, it is also the most versatile. With USB-A, USB-C, D-tap, 15V, 12V, and 8V ports, it has whatever voltage you need. I appreciate that they put a mechanical power switch on this plate that helps prevent the battery from draining when it mounted to the plate but not being used. When the switch is off, power is cut to the 15V, 12V, 8V, and USB-A ports. The USB-C port and D-tap port are always on however. According to the manual, all ports are rated for 3A. I load tested it, and at 1A it held all the rated port voltages pretty well. At the rated 3A power draw, all voltages dropped about a 1/2 volt below nominal. With the exception of maybe the 5V USB-A port, this actually isn't too bad. I also checked the PD function on the USB-C port and it was able to supply requested voltages by the device it was powering. Charging the battery through the USB-C port or D-tap port can be done with the power switch off or on. It has a charging indicator showing 25, 50 75, and 100%, but for me it only ever seemed to show the first 3 lights on and the 100% light flashing. It didn't even matter if there was a battery attached, it still showed the same lights. So I'm not sure of the reliability of that indicator. All of my V-mount batteries worked fine with this mount, and the 15mm rail adapter also fit perfectly. Overall, I think this is really nice V-mount battery plate. ... show more

  • Makes your Life Easier
If you're runnign a rig set-up, you need this plate. It makes your life so much easier. Essentially, you'll plug in all your acessories to this battery plate. Now you can just switch out the V-mount batteries as needed without having to disconnect everything from all of the ports. It might not seem like a big deal, but it makes charging/swapping so much better. Now you don't have to plug/unplug everything every time you need to recharge. This also means you don't need to worry about accidently missing something - or having a loose connection. It's all connected. The build is nice and it looks clean. It also serves as a battery charger (via USB-C) if needed. It moutns via rods - but can so use a 1/4x20 to mount. I frequently use a superclamp to hold it to my tripod for a flexible set-up. It's a valuable pieces of gear. Once you start using it, you won't be able to go back. ... show more

  • Fantastic product
I feel like as some of the reviews have been on there. This is not a normal V mount plate so if that’s what you need you wouldn’t buy this one. This is especially designed to give you more voltage options with barrel connectors. So it’s good you’re going to pay the price in terms of less connectivity with other standard outputs like DTaP . That’s the point of this thing. It’s very handy to be able to use your V mount battery to power varying other devices that use reliable income and lead somewhat outdated barrel connectors. So if you have a lot of devices that are powered by these this is what you would want to get. It appears excellently with some modular power cords that allow you to set the size since there is such a wide variety of different options with barrel connectors and there’s no standardization in terms of size or voltage. Plate is designed to give you more flexibility in that area but in doing so it will cost you some in the other and that’s completely understandable. If you need barrel connector power though this is the one to get. It’s a really fantastic idea and it was implemented really well with a fantastic build quality plate with an oversized release lever so you can deal with larger batteries. Comes with the standard 15 mm rail holder. It’s a great package. ... show more

  • Great
The only thing I was worried about going from a cold mount to this hot mount was would it affect battery life. It turns out, it doesn't seem to affect it at all. I'm getting exactly the same battery percentage at the end of the day as I would typically expect. It seems odd considering it has to power some of the electronics in this plate, but I'm very happy that I don't have to sweat it. There's plenty of 1/4-20 mounting holes to attach it to my rig, or even to attach other gear. The battery clicks in securely, and holds well. I can output straight out of the USB port. When I want to shut it off, I can now press a button instead of unplugging it every time. It's a little thing, but it's a nice luxury, and I'm sure the longevity of the USB cables will be appreciated. Overall a great mount. Highly recommended. ... show more
