  • Good deal for $$, good quality, works great.
As stated it works great. Using it with a Panasonic Eva 1 and no problems. Tapped out of it to a monitor, and no problems. Overall, for the $$ well worth it and recommend.

  • Works great. Inexpensive way to use v-mounts on my rig
I have two Sony FS5 cameras and I use two of these so I can use v-mounts to power the camera rig through the Dtap connection and I use the connection ports to power a video monitor and wireless video transmitter. These work just fine for what I use them for.

  • First class item
Be sure you don't connect a dtap and overpower your electronics. Can damage your powered items. Careful!!

  • Powers all items on my rig
The best thing about this adapter are all the cables it brings. I was able to find a cable that fit every accessory on my rig. Monitor, Camera, light. Liked it so much, I purchased a second one.

  • It works for what I need it to do.
I have two, one on my DIY steadicam rig and another on my director's monitor and they both do exactly as advertised, deliver v-mount power to all of my devices.

  • One MAJOR complaint, otherwise very solid
I'll jump right into the major complaint. Similar to what the one other reviewer (at the time of my review) mentioned in their review is that the locking mechanism that holds the battery plate and battery at a specific angle relative to the 15mm rods is pretty worthless unless the battery is near-vertical or horizontal. Any sort of natural movement of the camera while the battery plate is at an angled position, ie: 45-degrees, the batter, and plate will flop down to horizontal. Compounding the issue is that one of the thumbscrews will loosen even further when the plate flops downward. The thumbscrews, by the way, do not have the spring built into them so that you can pull out the thumbscrew and rotate it to a different position if they run into contact with some other piece of equipment. This adds to the already compounding tightening problem. However, unlike the other reviewer who might be able to live with it, this is a non-starter for me and will religate this battery plate to a B-camera or some other use. Not only does it not hold the battery at a 45-degree angle, the bracket that engages the battery plate is already showing signs of wear and paint damage due to the plate flopping down because the brackets can't hold it in position. To remedy the paint issue, I added two small plastic washers between the rod bracket and the battery plate which does help from the wear standpoint but reduces the clamping ability even further. It's an unfortunate flaw in the design because otherwise, the battery plate is very well optioned. The various power outputs, the VERY smooth v-mount locking mechanism, and the D-tap constant output are great and perfect for my needs. But again, the bracket failure is a nonstarter and I will continue to use CAMVATE battery plate ($99'ish) which has a superior and more refined adjustable angle bracket. The CAMVATE, however, struggles where the battery engages the plate, which is why I picked up the KOCAKOO plate as the new primary. Unfortunately, the search will continue for an affordable option that checks all the boxes. ... show more

  • Great Mount, Better power distribution.
Holds the rods well and secures that battery well. Multiple voltage output options. Using with a BMPC6K, powers everything without an issue. yay this thing.

  • Works well with a few issues
Bought this to power all the devices hooked up to my rig: monitor, audio recorder, camera and lights. Having all the different power outlets is really convenient. This was one of the few plate splitters that included 15v, 12v, 8v, and 5v barrel connections, along with 2-USB-A connectors and a D-Tap. I just need to worry about one type of battery with lots of spares and everything is powered. Having all the different cables included is a nice touch. My only real complaint is the lack of mounting options. The included 15mm double rod mount doesn't appear to be made for this unit and doesn't fit properly. The holes from center to center are 59mm. All my other similar mounts are exactly 60mm. To get the mount to slide onto the rods, I have to loosen the clamps all the way out. When I tighten the clamps it makes it impossible to move any of the other double rod mounts on the same rods. The poor fit becomes very apparent when I tighten down the clamps. The tabs that extend out from the unit that fits on the rod mount bend inward. The tabs don't sit flat on the mount so it's hard to tighten it enough to keep the unit from swiveling. With a heavy battery, the unit won't stand upright. It's best to just lay it down flat on the rods, or have it hanging below. The former takes up a lot of space (requiring long rods) and the latter makes it hard to set your rig down flat on the ground. It's a pain but not worth returning it. A simple solution would be to simply replace the rod mount with one that has the correct spacing. Unfortunately, this mount is non-standard in every way. All my other double rod mounts use M5 tightening bolts on the clamps. This unit uses M4 bolts and the holes in the mounting tab of the unit have holes too small to fit the larger M5 bolts. I could drill it out, but I shouldn't have to. All the power options make this plate splitter really convenient. If I were rating it on just that aspect, I'd give it 5-stars. However the engineering and inferior quality of the materials and assembly are 2-stars. Would I recommend it? If you don't need all the power options and are willing to pay a little more, there are better battery plate splitters available. Update: found a similar battery plate with all the same outputs along with a USB-C input/output that allows charging through the plate. There are other options, some have long lead times since they ship from China. I returned this one since it doesn’t really fit my rig rods. ... show more
