So let me start by saying I did have a problem with my canopy, that was quickly resolved by the company. We had finally opened it up to use (after my return date). I had the blue color (beautiful). We put it up every day, all day for one week at the beach (taking it down each evening). The canopy faded tremendously and even ripped during removal because the discoloration apparently thinned the material. Now I know this was not normal for this canopy. I definitely had one that just happen to have this flaw. The reviews on this canopy are fantastic if you read them, so I knew this wasn't normal for this company. I know these canopies are typically very durable. So I contacted the company. The company is FABULOUS!!!! Remember, we didn't use ours until after the return date. I sent pictures, and they were immediately apologetic and happy to fix the problem. They had me return the canopy and refunded me immediately. Would I buy this again? YES! It is study, is is very easy to assemble, and it is a perfect size. I just had a bad apple. But knowing how this company stands behind their product is everything to me! I would say if you're thinking about purchasing this, do! I think you'll be happy with what the product typically is, and if not, you'll be happy with how important customer satisfaction is to this company. The first time we tried to use of we couldn't. So when we tried to set it up again without an event it still seemed short..the idea of having a back with a uv protection is nice. Thought I did enough research before purchase. This is my first major faux pas while shopping. C'est la vie.

After years of dissatisfaction using umbrellas for shade while performing music outdoors, I decided to buy a canopy/ gazebo. I knew nothing about them and it's pretty hard to choose among so many. The easy / fast seemed to be - easier and faster - and better thought out, so took a chance on it. It went together in 15 minutes first time out of the box - really very easy - good idea to print the directions on the gig bag. Breaking down, fit it back in that bag no problem. It was quick going up, seems of reasonable quality, somewhat heavy but I guess that's a good thing to keep it from blowing away. This is the "8 foot" size, 10 x 10 on the ground 8x8 at the canopy. It's good for me as i play sitting on a stool. Would be too short for stand up guitar players... Plenty of room for me, some instruments and gear, and good visibility. Definitely shades well. Biggest drawback is there is no side cover. For mid day it should be fine, but the afternoon sun is going to get in for sure, so now I have to improvise that. Surprised the company does not sell it as an accessory. Other makers do have that - I think it's a necessity. Overall if you can live without the side, or can figure it out buying a separate piece of fabric to tie on, it's a very solid device and works as advertised... ... show more

I took it to the beach, sand got in the telescopic legs and it broke within a week. very disappointing. But the company saw from my review that I had been disappointed and they reached out to me to make amends. So I have to give them credit for being fair to deal with. Hopefully they improve the sturdiness of the canopy so it is less likely to break. But perhaps I was just unlucky and got the rare bad one. ... show more

    • Great UV protection for Beach; Tough to pack Top!

After researching, imay be better than a cabana with a pole in the middle and ordered. It came in a box within a box but when I opened it the beach blue case was filthy all down the front and sides. Decided to put the unit up at home anyway to see how it worked. Instructions are useless. Now that I know how to do it, it's easy even for one person. I purchased for these reasons 1) No pole in middle 2) 8 plastic bottles filled w water and placed in pockets as weights. Two bottles in two pockets at bottom of each pole wrap around pole nicely. 3) UV protection of silver coating of fabric. Great protection and shade area for the beach. 4) Not horribly heavy to carry. Nice carry case. 5) Nice height levels...about 6.5' and 5'...adjustible legs. 10' square is a good size beach wise for 1- 4 people I'm returning for a couple of reasons 1) Cost vs quality of fabric top...material looks cheap 2) No middle pole in center to screw into sand to make unit more secure in wind at beach 3) Using at home over an 8' kids pool, there are no mosquito curtains, just one shade curtain, and no way to anchor into concrete drive. Not that attractive for home use. 4) Top is not attached to the frame like an umbrella, so there is more installation time 5) For same reason, a pain to set up and take down at the beach for one person. Can get the top back in the case w the metal legs but impossible to do at the beach. Need a nice clean driveway to lay it out facric top to fold it up. 6) Asked for new clean case but was told whole unit needed to be replaced. I could return through any Kohl's store w/o the box. Didn't want to chance getting billed a 2nd time for another unit, so am returning thru Kohl's. This is almost as good as a Costco's return...easy! Decided I need a different unit for beach and home. Going to order a camper one that pops up and down like a umbrella. Uses water bottles too. At home need one that is heavier, sturdier, more attractive, will weather better, with a high quality fabric top I can remove for the winter and don't need to remove during a storm! Get lots of rain and wind in Pennsylvania! Also need one that has or can add mosquito curtains. Looking at a 12' octagon or hexagon shape which is sturdier than a square. Will spray the canvas top to further weather proof. Also spray the metal with clear Rust-Oleum to keep from rusting. ... show more
