  • Great tent for camping with Friends
Size: Contains PFAS Style: 6-person
We bought this tent to go camping with friends for 3 days. It was really easy to assemble. It took about 3 minutes. It is very well made. It is water proof. We did not have any leaks at all inside. I loved that I had plenty of room to stand up to get dressed and to have my queen size air mattress. It doesn't come with a top rain flap so you do have to purchase that separately. I didn't realize this till we got to the campground. It doesn't affect it being water proof it just allows you to keep the windows open if it's raining and rain won't get in. I would definitely purchase this tent again because of its ease of use and it's great construction. ... show more

  • Perfect for family
Size: Contains PFAS Style: 10-person Dark Room
We love this tent. We are a family of 5 with 3 kids, we all fit comfortably in it and have enough space to be able to walk around. The door is also easy for the kids to unzip which is a plus. The black out part of this is probably my favorite. It gives us a little peace of mind knowing that the kids can sleep however late they want and not be woken up by the light. It’s also very easy to assemble and to take apart as well. I’ve put it up and down by myself and it wasn’t difficult. It is heavy, but it’s nothing I can’t handle! ... show more

  • Don't use it in the rain - Please see the updated comments
Size: Contains PFAS Style: 4-person
I needed a tent for a two-day camping trip. I watched a number of videos and read plenty of reviews. Unfortunately by the time I got around to purchasing one, the newer model did not come with a rain-flyer, or a little tarp outside to put your shoes on. I also found that the bottom of the tent did not seem as durable as the video review of the prior Coleman 4-person tent review. Setting up the tent is quite easily done. We had very good weather and it did not rain at all. Due to the thickness of the bottom of the tent not being as constructed as heavily we ended up purchasing a tarp to put underneath it. I also purchased a rain-flyer for $40 since it didn't come with one. So far we are up to over $200 for this setup. After returning up a few weeks later I set it up in the backyard to test out an inflatable air mattress. The air mattress I found was not comfortable at all, and since it was getting late I figured I would pack up the tent the next day. The next day I went to pack up the tent and full water puddles in the tent. At first I thought maybe the wind blew the rain-flyer off and the rain came in through the space between the (2) zippers on each of the side windows. However I then noticed that spot was covered. So I cleaned up the mess and put the tent through a lite shower setting on my hose with the water coming straight down. The fabric seemed to be very resilient to water, and it look as though the water was bouncing right off (kind of like a car with rain-x on it)...this made me feel pretty good. However, once I stopped the lite shower and looked inside, I found water seeping in on the seams on the bottom. I was very disappointed. I suspect I shouldn't have purchased a Coleman product. Some of the reviews indicated the same thing, but others indicated they had no issues. I thought the Coleman products were put through a quality test prior to being sold / shipped out. I am guessing not. So I started a warranty claim considering it was only a month and a day since the purchase of the tent. What I have read so far indicates the purchaser has to pay for shipping. I suspect by the end of this I would have invested more than $250 for a tent and separate rain-flyer. I opened the claim on the weekend (9/18/21) and have not heard anything from the manufacturer yet. Summary: Ease of setup -> Thumbs Up Water Resiliency -> Thumbs Up Water-Proof / Poor Craftsmanship -> Thumbs Down. I would not suggest this tent to anyone, unless they have a way of testing it prior to purchasing it. Update: I contacted Coleman as it was past the 30-day purchase time frame. Kimberly from customer support reached out to me via phone, and followed up with an email. They had offered to replace the 4-person pop-up tent with (2) other versions, however they were not pop up tents, wouldn't work with the $40 Coleman rain-flyer that was purchased and were less expensive models, in addition to not being as tall. I suggested an alternative 4-person pop-up tent, however it was out of stock with no known arrival date. Kimberly was going to offer the 6-person pop-up tent as an alternative, however it was out of stock as well. Kimberly then offered up the 8-person pop-up tent as a replacement. My initial thought was no as it was twice as heavy, twice as big, and some reviews indicated it leaked and required preferably two-people to setup. However, after speaking with a couple of friends and family we decided to accept the 8-person tent as a replacement. Once it arrived, my daughter and I set it up. It was certainly helpful to have the both of us doing it. It is quite large, and is over 6' at the center. It also has two-rooms. I tested the tent with the hose simulating a shower for a good five minutes, and not water came through the seams. The only time water came in was when I open the door and windows (naturally). My daughter loves it and is looking forward to using it next year with friends. I contacted Kimberly from Coleman to ask what to do with the 4-person pop-up tent. She indicated to either donate to charity or do whatever I want with it. Summary: Though the initial experience of realizing the 4-person pop-up tent was leaking, Coleman stood behind their product and provided great customer service. Thank you Kimberly for all your help. I moved this from a 1-star to a 4-star review thanks to Kimberly and Coleman standing behind their product. ... show more

  • Really easy setup, Easy to store away
Size: PFAS-Free Style: 4-person
This thing was pretty sweet. Easy to use. Difficult to get back in its bag haha, but not impossible! It really is a 10-second setup. Get it out of the box, fold down the legs and extend the telescoping portion and voila! Impressive! Quality you would expect from Coleman, too. We look to use the hell out of this instant tent this year! ... show more

  • The AFTER 1 Year review and lessons learned...SPOILER DO NOT BUY THIS TENT...UNLESS...
Size: Contains PFAS Style: 4-person
...you ONLY camp in DRY weather!!! So this experience began as I purchased this 4 person tent a year ago so my wife and I could go camping for our anniversary. It seemed like a good deal and I have had other pieces of Coleman gear...sleeping bags, stoves etc since the 1970's and I was satisfied with the quality. First off...It took 3 times to get what one would consider a "new" tent. In all fairness, this could be due to the amazon/coleman returns process. The first had sand all in it and the second had a hole in the rear of the built in "rainfly". We did receive the 3rd tent with only a day or two to spare before going camping. Last year, we arrived in severe weather so we were stuck in the car until it passed and set camp late that night having thankfully nice weather until we left. Fast forward to this year, same campsite same tent. The first night to midday of the next day dry but breezy. Light rain started around 4pm as expected. Only 2 and a half hours of light to moderate rainfall into a 6.5 hour rain event, the roof started leaking at the seams and from inside the loop where you hang a light or something. Not long after that, say another 10 or so minutes, every seam under every window and even the back wall seam midway up the wall began to leak. As we started to see how much water was coming in, I noticed that ALL roof and wall panels are now saturated and water weeps inside directly where it lands on the outside! At about 9PM I knew there was a final line of heavy rain still to come before it all moved away so, I cut open a zip lock bag and used an entire roll of 1 inch gorilla tape to slow the ingress of water as it was ice cold and dripping on our bedding. we were committed since we couldn't get to our vehicle without becoming soaked. I should note that even when the heavy line came through, it was NOT severe. In total, we received about 1.5 maybe 2 inches of rain over the entire event. I know because I've been a trained NWS weather spotter for 2 decades and had my eyes on the radar. #weathernerd I will admit I became suspicious about the marketing of this model over the last year as I did see an additional rainfly available for this tent here on amazon. I thought why does it need another if they claim it has one built in and the whole thing has this weather tech coating complete with symbols of blowing wind? Back to the incoming weather. We DID have a wind advisory but being in a forest with 120ft+ tall trees, we never had anything on the ground level gusts higher than 10-20mph. I did have a tarp setup over the entrance that was facing the direction the rain was coming from (SW) so the doors did not leak as bad as every other surface did. I will say this, the "bathtub" design of this tent was SOLID and waterproof!! That is the ONLY reason for that extra star. We set the tent on top of a ground tarp but the bottom did not leak and thankfully so. While this was a challenge and we obviously didn't sleep well and had a fair amount of gear get wet, it did not completely ruin the trip. Keep in mind it was only used ONE other time a year apart and it stayed in it's case in storage. This is only a fair weather tent or for use in your back yard at home where if the weather turns wet, you can run into the house! Do not plan to use this for any camping where you have to drive any distance and/or to an event or occasion that is meaningful as it will let you down. The setup is pretty quick too, once you are used to it, you'll think of it as an inverted umbrella. In summary, do NOT take gear to the field without testing it first! I knew this and I just didn't because I ran out of time due to being sent used or defective merchandise. I mistakenly trusted a brand name and their marketing gimmicks. I will NOT be buying ANY other Coleman tents! Are they right for you? You, be the judge. Austin <>< ... show more
