The lid is a point of contention, it's nice that it's touchless and comes off easy for replacing trash bags and cleaning the lid, but it's not as reliable as it's pricetag would have you believe. Also a little metal clip has fallen out after just one month of use and I have no idea what purpose it serves as the mechanism looks to be working as well as ever. The vacuum is alright. I forget it's there most of the time and it has its own little dust tray you have to clean out so it really isn't all that convenient of a feature if I'm being honest. Overall it's not the best addition to our home. It's alright and kinda nifty, but if you're struggling to justify the purchase, I'd say to get a cheaper prettier trash can will do you better. I'm keeping it to flex on my roommates, but in any other situation I'd say it's a silly buy. ... show more

After two months. The lid stop functioning. We have reset and reset to no avail. The light comes on, but lid do not open; just noise where is attempting to open. The vacuum is superb, very strong; but, it’s a bit loud. Because we loved this device so much when purchased, we paid to had an additional electrical plug installed especially for this can. I s there a possibility to have the top replaced? Would I suggest this item to another interested party…..yes as long as they know that the top is faulty and will need replacement. I first purchased this about 8 months ago for a new house. I really enjoyed it up until this past month now only 7 months old when the lid started to malfunction. It is stuck and blue light just blinking. I have tried to power it off, unplug, make sure bag isnt over sensors. I am very upset as this was too expensive to only last 7 months. What options do I have? Can I be refunded and send it back? Who would I contact? ... show more

The media could not be loaded. When I ordered it it had immediate problem. I got replaced and within few months same problem, lid not working. Poorly designed self resetting. It doesn’t like to be obstructed even little bit, so it can’t be used under anything that doesn’t allow lid to completely open. Anything short of completely opening will cause malfunction. We bought this item just over a month ago and it's already started acting up. The lid just bumps up and down a few times and won't open. We have unplugged it numerous times, made sure the contacts were clear and its still not working properly. I would have thought for this much money that I would have a much better product. I am very happy with this trash can. The vacuum suction is just perfect for sucking up those bits of pet fur and crumbs that always seem to get missed. The can lid sensor is responsive and opens and closes without any issues. That being said, some things of note that I discovered is that this can needs to be located so that the lid does not contact anything as it is opening or it will remain open. I do not feel this is an issue, I just make sure the lid will be able to open without bumping the countertop. The can holds a large amount of trash so I go longer between bag changes. I was very excited about this trash can, because I have a tiny galley kitchen and this served two functions. The vacuum features worked great. I have another eyevac in a different room and was happy to see the trash can vacuum worked just as good as the free-standing one. My problem is with the trash can lid. My first unit started malfunctioning within two days, and after replacing it, the second unit stopped working after three days. A quick Google search tought me this is a common problem with this product. I feel like if you're going to sell a $250 trash can, you should at least make sure it works. It has been 3 weeks and the lid has been malfunctioning and vacuum works but the suction isn’t very strong. It’s too expensive for it to be malfunctioning so quickly.
