I live in Las Vegas so the sun just beats the life out of hoses making my “expanding” hose burst a few weeks ago, so when I saw this hose described as “stainless steel” I thought it might be more durable and I’d give it a try. The hose is much lighter weight than I expected, which is a good thing, but part of that light weight is due to the smaller diameter than your typical garden hose (the diameter is not in the description so this came as a bit of a surprise to me). Not really a problem though my pressure washer strains a little due to the decreased water volume; I’m going to open the spigot more the next time to see if it will compensate. It doesn’t kink up and get tangled like your typical rubber hose, so that’s another plus, and the couplers used on each end are a VERY nice quality making the hose is easy to install and remove from the spigot or power washer. Not a crazy expensive hose but I’d have liked a larger diameter and maybe a bit longer for the money. ... show more

I rarely buy garden hose that isn't stainless steel now because they just get damaged or sun-beaten eventually. This is another stainless offering that looks like it will last just as long as the pipes (decades). The package included a few spare rubber washers for sealing and I didn't notice any pressure loss compared to the other hoses I have in place. I got tired of untwisting our new hose and went for this one. So far, I'm glad I did. The hose doesn't kink and is very easy to roll up. Solid brass ends are way better than plastic ones, and the stress relief on each end is good. I was surprised at how light the hose was, at 3lbs 3oz. Great quality for a great price. We have to replace our garden hoses every year because we really put them through the wringer. I am gifting this stainless steel hose to my hubby for Christmas (he has been wanting one for years) and I have very high hopes that we will be using it for years to come.

    • lightweight and no kinks, but low water volume
I deducted a star because the water volume is lower than my old hose, so it takes longer to fill anything. I think the volume is lower because the hose is actually made up of two hoses-- an outer metal "shell" and an inner hose. That inner hose is smaller than a standard garden hose, so even when the spigot is turned to the highest, less water flows through this hose than through a standard hose. I wish the product description had mentioned this. However, I do really like this hose. Depending on what's most important to you, this might be perfect. I use it in my poultry yard. I needed something that wouldn't kink. I have water stations set up at various places in the yard, so I walk around with the hose a lot. This hose resists kinks very well! In that sense it gets five stars. Solving the kinking problem was important to me, so overall I'm happy with this hose. ... show more

This is a well made and well designed hose. It's flexible where it connects so it won't break or collapse under stress. It's flexible everywhere, actually. The ends are brass. It has plumber's tape and washers included. Didn't need the plumber's tape, but perhaps it might be useful for connecting something I'm not using. I'm happy to have a hose that the critters can't bite through. It's lightweight, so it's easy to put away when you're finished. It also wasn't hot after getting the morning sun. That was a concern. Switching over to metal hoses as my other hoses have exploded or ruptured over the years. This is so sturdy and does not kink. It also hasn't gottten stuck on rocks in my yard like my old hoses would. It's easier to manage and handle than a rubber hose. Added plus this looks better too than the traditional hose. I was excited for what this hose offered - especially the anti-tangle and anti-kink abilities. However, in actual usage, having an inner hose surrounded by the outer stainless steel shell leads to other problems. To keep the stainless steel shell's diameter similar to that of a regular hose, they made the inner hose very narrow. This restricts water flow a little, leading to less water pressure out of the hose. When the hose does get twisted on itself like all hoses do, it becomes somewhat futile to try untwisting it because any attempt to twist the hose on the opposite direction mostly just spins the stainless steel shell and not the inner hose. This is the case even when winding the hose up for storage, you end up with unsightly twists all over the place. The fact that the inner hose is narrow makes it even more susceptible to twisting. ... show more
