Description

Control your lights and appliances with a simple tap or by asking Siri. Or effortlessly set up schedules that put your appliances on autopilot, turning your floor lamps, dehumidifier and many other devices on and off independently of your iPhone or internet connection. With HomePod, HomePod mini, or Apple TV as your home hub, you can also access your accessories on the go, control them automatically based on whether somebody is leaving or arriving home, and add automations that work with other HomeKit-enabled accessories. Eve Energy lets you keep watch the energy your accessories are consuming and shows you how much they’re going to cost based on your entered electricity rate. Eve Energy supports Bluetooth and Thread, and joins your Thread network automatically. As a router node, Eve Energy relays other Thread accessories’ data packages and enhances the stability and reach of your smart home. Equipped with Apple HomeKit technology and UL certification, Eve Energy offers outstanding ease of use and advanced security. Eve Energy is quick & easy to set up, and you don’t need a bridge. And the best thing about all Eve accessories is how they protect your privacy: Eve does not harvest your personal data and there is no Eve cloud, so your data won’t get exposed. Local intelligence means all the processing is done locally and Eve accessories communicate directly with your iPhone, iPad, or home hub without any cloud dependency or bridge.

  • Best option for Apple's HomeKit ecosystem, consumer privacy focused, U/L certification..
Style: Eve Energy 2 Pack
Easy setup, seamless integration into the HomeKit ecosystem, U/L certification. It also does energy tracking which is useful. Alone among mainstream products, it's more trustworthy and privacy focused. The reason for buying this is twofold. It and other Eve products do not wantonly harvest customer data for whatever purpose they want. For smart plugs, not a major concern but for products with cameras and/or microphones, do you really want (insert company name here) being a member of your household and potentially gaining access to video and audio? Ring even allows law enforcement to access private recordings. In general, most data collection seems to be for marketing purposes but it's a very slippery slope to more suspect practices. Granted, this is a bit of a tinfoil hat concern. I don't know of any companies that allow this (according to the EULA's and privacy statements). Regardless, the fact that this can be done is enough to say that it shouldn't be done. Only Eve took measures to ensure that the data collected remains as private as can be expected in our increasingly Orwellian world. Secondly, it has U/L certification. Having U/L certification means that it has been tested by Underwriters Laboratories, a long established and trustworthy US company. They are a non-profit and test virtually all aspects of product performance - safety, performance and chemical content. There are other companies/organizations that do this but a U/L stamp on a product is the gold standard. Thanks to Amazon reviewer 'M O' for mentioning the power button. 'M O' is correct in stating that the power LED is also an on-off switch, something I overlooked. It's not obvious when looking at it. Having a button is a nice feature and useful for troubleshooting and/or quick on-off functionality without having to summon overlord Siri. Highly recommended even at higher cost than product from other suppliers. Going forward, I will only buy so called 'smart home' products from Eve because of their privacy-centric focus. Thank you Eve for respecting your customers. Please double down on the privacy aspects of your products. I'm waiting on a 4K version of your outdoor security cameras. ... show more

  • The best of the best
Style: Eve Energy
It's the best of the best as of right now, so that is why it's pricey. But the question is, is it worth it? I only bought one due to the price and I love all the features it offers but I probably will not buy another unless it is on sale or in a cheaper package. I bought this to help measure energy consumption for different devices. It does not disappoint. I can measure in hours, days, weeks, and months. I can even add estimated costs based on energy prices if you know it. It has some great features such as schedules, remote ability to turn the device on or off, and automations. So the next question comes. Would I purchase this again? The answer would be no due to the cost. I can find other products that can do just about everything that this one can. I bought another set of a different brand and they can do just about everything that this one can. The only advantage that I see with the Eve is the estimated costs analysis and the app seems a lot better than the competitors. However I dont think that justifies it, when I can buy a pack of 4 of another brand for the same price as 1 Eve plug. ... show more

  • These are very useful, the best I've seen so far, yes it's pricey.
Style: Eve Energy
I bought this to help with my Thread network. It greatly improves it, plus allows the Eve app to provide more detailed information about the Thread network it sees. I haven't heard the the high pitch whine from the device that other people have, but then again, I have tinnitus. Haven't tried the plug yet, but I bought to make Thread more robust in my home. The fact that they promise to update it to Matter is good, but then Nanoleaf said the same thing about a lot of its device, then changed course. I hope Eve follows through. It's a little pricey for what it is, but it is worth it, for me. ... show more

  • Tether Is So Lighting Fast! Use With Tether!
Style: Eve Energy
Wow. IoT has always disappointed… except for these. They use a standard released on November 3rd called Tether. And it makes IoT and these super fast and awesome. Note that as of now you need a Tether compatible device in your house - such as 4K Apple TV, HomePod Mini, and a bunch of Google products (and bunch of others are coming online every day - such as a bunch from Nanoleaf) to take advantage of Tether. I already had 2x 4K Apple TVs so setup was instant and there’s immeasurable latency controlling the light. And it works from EVERYWHERE all the time. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Reliable smart plug
Style: Eve Energy 2 Pack
I was looking for some new smart plugs to replace my headache inducing WeMo plugs, I had the smaller newer version as well as the older bulkier versions and they were constantly going offline and would require a hard reset and resetting up in the app/HomeKit constantly. I finally decided to pull the trigger and purchase these which were admittedly quite a bit more pricey but after using them for about 6 months I have only had them pop offline once, and was easily fixed by just unplugging and replugging it in and haven’t had an issue since, they are quick to respond to my HomeKit requests and the Eve app is great as it will pull in all the accessories you currently have as well from other brands. The power monitoring (watt/power draw) is sluggish and oftentimes won’t actually show how much power is being pulled from the plug but that’s a minor detail as it will show up eventually. If you are wanting a good smart plug that you won’t have to hassle with these are great. ... show more

  • They work!
Style: Eve Energy
You might have to force your HomeKit setup to default to your Thread-enabled hub: I did this by powering down all other devices that were trying to serve as hubs (HomePods, etc.), then connected these outlets to my Apple TV 4K with Thread, then powered up the other devices. Now working perfectly. Worth the extra $10 over other brands, because the other brands all fail. ... show more
