    • Beats the original ring doorbell in nearly every way.
I purchased this doorbell as a replacement for my original "OG" Ring doorbell that I'd had since 2017. Over the last year or so the ring had gotten progressively worse battery life to the point that it would only go about 2 weeks on a charge, this coupled with a difficulty staying connected to the wifi as well the indoor chime not working lead me to look elsewhere for battery powered options and ultimately to this device. Having had this unit installed for a few weeks now I can say without question this is a significantly better device in nearly every way possible I can think of. After two weeks the unit is reporting 91% battery remaining, this even with my random live streaming of the camera just to check on things. Here's a list of some of my pros and cons I can think of thus far. Pros: 1. Battery life appears to be excellent. Where the ring at best was lucky to get a month of battery even when newer, this unit is likely to get several months minimum. 2. Lighted doorbell button, when the eufy detects motion the doorbell button lights up, informing the visitor that there's a doorbell and also a camera there (good for security.) The ring did not have this feature when on battery (it's always lit when plugged in.) 3. The "sim card" like release. This is infinitely better than the security screws on the ring, both screws stripped on me and had to be replaced, this push pin method is fast and easy. 4. Video quality much improved from OG Ring. 5. Time from doorbell ring to notification is nearly instantaneous, with ring it was several seconds in most cases if lucky. 6. Motion detection is great, I am often notified of the motion before the visitor has reached the doorstep. 7. No monthly/yearly fee: with the ring you had to pay $30/year to view historical videos, if you happened to not check a camera while the event was happening you were out of luck, with this unit and a $10 memory card the history is always there to see for no fee. 8. Inside chime is included - with the ring you had to purchase separately or buy a bundle, either way the cost was higher than this bundle on Amazon. Cons: 1. No hardwire option - this isn't an issue for me since my home didn't have a hard wired doorbell, but for those with a hardwire existing this would be great to never charge it. I believe eufy makes another model with this option. 2. Doorbell chime lacking in options for sounds - this is a bit nitpicky but the chime sounds are boring at best, the ring definitely had some fun sounds for the holidays, this is not a functional issue and one that could be easily rectified if they wanted to. Overall I am extremely pleased with this device and would recommend it to friends over the ring doorbell from here on out. I was previously a ring apologist and convinced several friends to buy one, but for me in my home this is a better device in nearly every way possible. I think if you have a hardwire that works then you may think twice about the battery option only but otherwise this is fantastic for the price and performance. ... show more

    • A Terrific Doorbell Monitor with No Subscription Fees
I had a Ring doorbell, but I was tired of them raising the subscription price every year. To me, they are ripping off their customers This unit has a much better video and audio than the Ring. Seriously better. Motion detection is much better also. No false notifications like the Ring had. Easy to install. No wires needed. Battery life TBD, but still shows a full charge after a few weeks of use. Easy to charge when it is needed. Just pops out to plug into a USB B mini-cord. App is easy to download. Works great. Connects with Alexa so it will announce what you want through Alexa, or Google or Apple. Has a second unit which is plugged into an outlet in the house. The memory card in the indoor unit records all events, thus no need for a subscription. This keeps the events system secure, since it is inside the house. Unit is also the chime. So you can have events announced just through the chime, or the app or Alexa (Google Home or Siri) or any combination. Works much better than Ring and no subscription fees.     • Easy to Install & Use…Removing to Charge It, Not So Much
Doorbell was easy to install & works great. However, I thought I would not be able to use it any longer after the battery ran out, because it needs to be removed from the mount to be recharged, & removing it from the mount proved extremely difficult. I think I misunderstood how the “Door Mounting Pin” that allows for removal worked, & that was my bad, but I don’t feel the instructions were clear on this. It is great that thieves are not able to remove the bell from the mount, but I should not have had this much trouble trying to remove it, OR the charging area should not be on the underside of the unit, so that if even if there is a mishap or misunderstanding in the mounting process, the bell can still be charged. I finally was able to pry the bell out of the mount, & it is pretty scratched up on the side, but still usable. It takes great video & I love the chimes, so I’m glad it worked out, but I feel there is room for improvement in the instructions regarding the use of the Door Mounting Pin & removing the unit from the mount. ... show more

Wanted to get a doorbell camera that was easy to use/setup and didn’t have any hidden fees or subscriptions. The eufy system is a perfect 10/10. Night vision is clear. Great options such as adding a SD card for saving clips. Bit of a lag when trying to load the video quickly but nothing too detrimental. Definitely would recommend for anyone looking for a doorbell camera. ... show more
