  • They have gone downhill in quality control and do not respond to customers
Color: Black
I have bought over 30 rolls of this black filament and it "used" to be the best hands down. I printed all my products with it and was buying roll after roll and had my printers tuned flawlessly to this filament. Sadly something must have happened in their factory where the filament appears to be contaminated. I have attached a photo to show the issue. It looks like moisture but it is not. I have had rolls in the dehydratro 5, 10, 25, and 48 hours !!! with no success at improving the quality of the print. You can see in the picture it is so bad it looks like I have random seem but I assure you the seem is configured in the back of all my prints. The only thing I can think of is contamination. I am sure I have well over 1000 hours of print time and 4 seperate 3d printers so I am pretty sure I know what I am doing. I do this for a living now. I have had a random spool with no problems and can interchange them and the dots disappear. Put another roll in and it is riddled with imperfections. Changed out to hatchbox and no imperfections. I am 99% sure esun quality control has gone downhill. For the last 3 months I have randomly bought a few rolls hoping they have resolved this issue but very sadly they have not. I emailed their customer support that was on the card in the box but they never respond. I wasted a couple hundred so far on bad rolls hoping the issue was resolved but no luck. Thanks for the great run but it looks like its over. ... show more

  • Top Notch Filament for the Price
Color: Gray
I just ordered 2 more rolls and thought it was time for me to leave some feedback for this filament. I have used at least 20 rolls of eSun PLA+ in my Raise3D N2 printer over the last year. It has never jammed for me nor has it broken. To be fair, I do use it very quickly before it has time to dry and get brittle. This is still PLA after all, so like others, it will have a tendency to get brittle if you leave it out, or don't store it carefully. I use the gray and occasionally the black. I'm not sure if the other colors have slightly different properties or not, but I've had very good and consistent results with gray and black with my setup. I also like the fact that PLA+ is a little bit less prone to warping if you leave it in the sun opposed to standard PLA. Anyway, pic attached of one of my latest 3d models/builds. -That was about 2.5 rolls. Hope it works as well for you as it does me. Happy printing! -Rob ... show more

  • NOT THE SAME FILAMENT
Color: Brown
eSUN PLA PRO was the only filament that I would buy. It was the best and I emphasize was. Since they changed the type of reel they use to roll the filament the quality also changed. The filament is brittle with a terrible finish. I found an old original unfinished reel that I still had and it amazingly printed like new and better than the new one. The reel used to be made of a clear material that was comprised of 2 halves that were joined by 2 M6 metric screws and nut to form the reel. Now the reel is made of a black material that is injection molded as one piece with an overly enlarged hole. Since I have been purchasing these new reels the quality of filament is terrible and I will no longer purchase eSun. Now I have to go back to searching to find a good PLA+ filament manufacturer because someone decided to fix that which was not broken. ... show more

  • ESun PLA+ is my new standard for PLA filament
Color: Black
So im a hatchbox guy when it comes to PLA. They have excellent filament, great colors, and for 20 bucks a 1kg spool, you really just cant beat it. However, ive switched to printing a lot of PETG lately and love that. I went to ESun for my PETG, and it prints like a dream. But, i like options, and so i wanted more PLA and i was running low. Hatchbox is out of stock on EVERYTHING, and so i took a look at ESun. Their PETG is cash money, so their PLA should be great as well i assumed. Then i saw they have a PLA+ option. I love pla, but man i wish it was a bit better. Welp, ESun delivers. I doubt itll have the heat resistance that PETG does, but i know my filaments and i wont us PLA+ in a hot environment. Anyhow, im using a Original Prusa Mk3s and i loaded up a spool of the PLA+. Nothing but problems. At first. Lots of folks said use base PLA settings. NOPE. Dont do that. I looked around, some people print colder, some hotter, so its all over the place. One thing you gotta know when getting this stuff, is your going to have to mess with your temps. It was printing like garbage, stringy, blobs everywhere. I canceled the first two prints i did with this stuff about a minute in. It wasnt even done printing the brim. Yeah, that bad. So, i took my temps on my MK3s to first layer of 225, bed at 65. Second Layer and beyond i went to 220 nozzle 60 bed. Right now, im printing a yellow banana stand, and i have to say it looks AMAZING. These temps work for me, and i saved the profile since i couldnt find an ESUN profile. Again, tho, ive seen people print cooler. This is just my 3rd shot at temps and it looks good, so ill keep 225/220 - 65/60 unless i see a need to back it off a bit. ESUN, if your reading, one favor i have to ask. I love your products, but i really wish filament makers like yourselves would have on your website a part that just has Printer Profiles for your products. Maybe throw the link on the cards you put in the box with all the great information on them. You must do extensive testing, and this would take your product above and beyond anyone out there since NO manufacturer posts filament profiles on their site. And they are pretty universal. Make one for Slicer, one for cura, and youd prolly cover 90% of your user base. And wed love you for it. But yeah, if youre looking for a great spool of solid filament that prints great, ESun should be on your short list. Ill still get some hatchbox from time to time, if esun is out of stock lol. But for now, for PLA+ and PETG... im an esun guy. ... show more
