Another great product from ESR. I love this car mount MagSafe iPhone holder that magnetically attaches to either your iPhone directly or through a case. I have found that if you attach a ESR MagSafe case to your iPhone the adhesion between the phone and this MagSafe mount is actually quite stronger, as opposed to just mounting it directly with your phone without a case. I just wish the mounting aspect was a bit easier and sturdier, as I’m sure it might be quite easy for most cars, but it is quite a challenge to keep it tight and secured on my 2021 Honda pilot. In fact 2 of the arms that secure it are on the vent, which it’s intended for ,but the 3rd arm is situated on the corner of my infotainment screen as I can’t move it away from there. That is why every few days I have to manually tighten it, so my phone will not come off with the entire unit during driving. The magnet is 100 percent fantastic, I do t have ant issue with that. If the engineers in conjunction with R&D from ESR could develop a similar car mounts that mounts for my vehicle, I would be 100% a happy customer, but overall I am pretty satisfied with this product. ... show more

Just installed and tested this mount. I’m using a thin non-ESR case with this mount, and the grip on the magnet is crazy strong. With a thin case or no case it’s unlikely your phone will fall off unless the vent itself breaks. Interesting feature, the little thumb wheel on the neck of this mount extends the hook to whatever length needed to hook the back of the vent fin. You then tighten the thumb wheel to your desired tension. Installation took 5mins tops. Will update this review down the line if anything breaks or gives way, but very solid so far. ... show more

Wow this phone holder is the bees knees. It definitely has the strongest magnets of any magnetic holder I've tried so far. It holds my s23 ultra with a uag pro case with absolutely no worries of it sliding or slipping off at all. That isn't easily accomplished the phone and holder together weigh over a half pound easily. I am super stoked to have come across this holder I'm extremely satisfied with it. I can guarantee that if you pick one up or heck pick up multiple you will be just as happy with it as i am if not more. Im going to end this review now so you can go order one. EDIT: Updated stars to 4 to reflect the excellent follow up by this vendor. They noticed my review and took 100% responsibility for the failure of their product. They gave me a refund and followed up again to ensure I received it and was satisfied. I would buy again from this vendor knowing that they truly do stand behind their products. I used this in a 2016 Acura MDX to hold my Apple 13 Pro Max. I was able to get it to stay on the vent - but it's really not a great fit. It would regularly fall off. And eventually, after about 6 months, it fell off for the last time when the clamp broke. I didn't think to contact the seller - but later noticed they have a one year warranty. Even though I had already tossed it, the seller said they would send me a replacement. I thought WOW, that's great customer service. Except, it never arrived. I wouldn't recommend it. ... show more

Build quality has been good enough that it's survived repeated disconnects straight off the magnet without damaging itself or the vent. Just received and installed it, so early days yet. Initial impression very positive. I have a big iPhone 13 Max with a MagSafe case, and it is held very solidly. Unlike other vent mounts I hated, this one can’t slide around or fall off (and doesn’t feel like it’ll break or fall apart). I’m curious to see if it harms the vent assembly. To be secure, it needs to be tight enough that it distorts the vent blade a fair bit. On my Eclipse, I’m able to close the vent completely with this installed, so my phone won’t get barbecued in winter. So far, way so good! ... show more

The 1st ESR MagSafe phone mount only lasted 6 months. I wrote ESR and they replaced it. It had the alligator clip with base to hold the phone up. The second fail as well. I don’t recommend this one. I bought the MagSafe with vent hook. This one looks like it will do the job. If this one fails I’ll change my review. ... show more
