  • Tastes great, but SLOW to filter and SPILLS a lot (top doesn't stay on well)
Color: Black
We drink a lot of water. We love that this filter tastes great and has a large capacity. That said, there are two things you need to know: 1) The filtration takes a long time -- we've been using it for about 25 days and it's already 30% slower than when the filter was new (our area has decent water quality -- nothing complicated). Because of that, when someone fills the pitcher, for the next 30 minutes, the top will remain full of water. 2) Because of (1), when the next person goes to pour a glass, there is a good chance it will spill EVERYWHERE when the top comes off. Even holding the top on, we're about 10% chance for flooding the countertops right now. It's a solid filter and the water tastes great, but my wife is ready to get rid of it because the of (2). Be warned :-) ... show more

  • Seems great!
Color: Navy Blue
It's not like I'm going to spend money on a water test to review this, but it does filter very slowly, which seems to indicate that it is a rigorous filter! I try to stay ahead of it by pouring some into a glass pitcher and making more. I like the design as well, and the countdown timer on the lid seems like a good thing. My well water tastes fine on its own, but I like the security of filtering until I ever get around to purchasing an RO system. Plus, I can take it with me places, so would still use it either way. ... show more

  • Good Filtration; Horrible Pitcher
Color: Navy Blue
Epic uses filters that are claimed to be conforming to NSF/ANSI 53/58, removal of PFAS ("Forever Chemicals"). For that reason, this model of pitcher is great. But the pitcher itself is hard to pour, and somewhat annoying to fill. I don't know why they added the "timer" to warn about replacement--a packet of paper stick-on labels would have been much more useful, especially since replacement period depends on how much water you filter every day. Given the price of the replacement filters, the pitcher is just overpriced! I would switch back to Brita if Brita would just add the NSF/ANSI 53/58 standard to the list of how they test their filters. ... show more

  • Good product
Color: Navy Blue
This doesn't hold that much water, so we refill it 2+ times a day depending on use, but overall I'm happy with the taste of the water and the design of the product. It's helpful to know when to replace the filter based on usage. If you use filtered water to cook with, get something bigger, but for a nice sized refrigerator water purifier, this is a good one. I've had others from different brands, and I like this one the most. ... show more

  • Great Pitcher
Color: Black
The media could not be loaded. We bought the Epic water pitcher to deal with a trace amount of PFOA found in our town's water. There are only a handful of filter pitchers that are certified for NSF P473, one of them being the Epic. We narrowed our choices to the Epic and the ZeroWater. In the end, we went with teh epic for three reasons. 1. Overall higher ratings in most reliable ratings venues. 2. Longer lasting filter (approx. 150 gallons). . 3. Flexibility with filters. There are two types of epic filters, Pure and Nano. Simply put, if you use tap/city water, you probably want the Pure filter. If you have well water, even if it is treated town wells, as in our case, or if you have hard water, you want the Nano filter. Both filters fit in teh same pitcher, so if you later decide you want the other filter, you can just buy the Pure or Nano. Although I prefer the look of the clear blue tinted pitcher, we bought the black 9slightly smoked plastic) as it had a $5 Amazon coupon. What's in the box: -The Epic water pitcher -Nano (or Pure) filter -User Guide Set up is simple: 1. Unpack the box. 2. Remove the lid and reservoir from teh pitcher 3. Unscrew the filter from the bottom of teh reservoir. 4. Check that the large silicone washer at the top of the filter is in place. 5. Screw filter back onto reservoir; put reservoir back in pitcher and put lid on. 6. Raise lid opening by handle with your thumb and fill reservoir. 7. Allow pitcher to filter water. Dump this water or use it on plants. DO NOT drink it. 8. Repeat Steps 6 & 7. It will take probably 30 minutes or more each time for the first two filtrations. 9. Fill reservoir a 3rd time. Filtration should go a little faster. This is your first drinkable pitcher of water! 10. Remove clear plastic from LED on lid. Hold down 'Start' button until LED comes on (about 3 seconds). NOTES: -The LED on the lid will start at 90 and count down 1 every 24 hours. This is the projected life of the filter. If you are one person, you may find it lasts longer, so always factor in taste. If the water starts to taste off or "lemony", a filter is usually in need of a change. - The pitcher is sold as 10 cup. Overall, between the pitcher area and reservoir, it is advertised at about 15 cups. If you count just the lower part of the pitcher, it is 7.75 cups before you would breech the top of the filter, and the reservoir holds not quite 6 cups filled to the brim. so keep in mind when you fill the reservoir for filtering, you are making less than 5-6 cups. - DO NOT fill the reservoir when you have a pitcher full of water. Some people think this saves time, but the result is, when you pour water, one of two things happens: either some of the unfiltered reservoir water blends into your filtered water, or the pressure of the reservoir water forces the lid off the pitcher and you have a big mess. The Epic does make for a nice tasting glass of water. it does not attempt to completely remove minerals, which is a good thing as some are healthy for you, so if you are looking for something devoid of all flavor, you may want something else. ... show more

  • Great filtration system.
Color: Navy Blue
Excellent filtration system, purchased this one for filtering water for sinus rinses. This meets standards for filtering water for this purpose. Because the filter system if so good, it does take some time for the water to be filtered. Would be great to be able to pour water out of the reservoir while it is filtering new water. Also the countdown for the filter change is based on number of days used vs number of gallons filtered. I feel that gallons filtered would be a more accurate representation of when to replace the filter. Otherwise it is a really wonder filter pitcher. ... show more

  • Very Pleased with Purchase
Color: Navy Blue
I purchased my Epicwater Filter a few weeks ago and really like it! I want to filter out the tap water I use to fill up my hot water dispenser that I use to make tea throughout the day. My refrigerator has a water filter and I like the option of double filtering that water as well. The Epicwater filter is super easy to use. You just fill the top section with water and then it passes through the filtration system into a separate section below in the pitcher. There is a digital countdown on the pitcher to let you know when you will need to replace the filter (every 90 days). I haven’t had to replace the filter yet. The water tastes clean. And I just like to know that I’m filtering out metals and chemicals from my water including fluoride. I’m glad I made this purchase and plan to continue using it. ... show more
