  • Fixed drooping
Size: Dual Mount
Be aware of the size of your monitor and it's overall weight. One of the arms, when I initially installed both of my 27in LED IPS monitors from LG began to droop immediately. I used luggage scale to get an accurate measure of the weight plus gravity measurement of both monitors. The weight itself was lower than the rated maximum weight rating of the dual arm from eletab. One thing to keep aware of is to slightly de-rate what the weight rating is so de-rate that by about 5-10% and that will give you a realistic value of how much weight the arms can handle. Now that all said, I was able to fix the droop on one of the arms right at the knuckle joint of where the vesa mount pivots. Yes it did require cranking with quite a bit of torque with an allen key, but before that was done, I removed parts from the knuckle. Specifically, this joint comes from the factory with a plastic outside (made to look like aluminum) shell. You will have to remove this whole mechanism with the allen wrench. Nested against the fastener as well as the fastener's mating cylindrical boss are plastic washers. It's theses washers that ultimately compromise the performance of the knuckle itself. Basically it causes a lack of stiction because the weight (or rather inertia from the combination from the flex of the joint and the monitors which tend to be top heavy) force the monitor down and because the plastic washer is slick, it slides providing no breaking. Worse still, even if you try to torque the screw more, nothing will happen because there is no opposing force in this simplistic joint. In any case, the solution to this problem is to remove the two nested plastic washers and replace with two 7/16" ID Zinc, flat washers. Once those are replaced, put the who mechanism back together and crank the shit out of it with an allen key and your monitor will not droop ever again. At least mine hasn't yet. ... show more

  • Read review for why five
Size: Dual Mount
This will be a long review but it will cover everything from product to Customer Service. First things first this is my second set of arms. The first set I received arrived quickly and well packaged. At the time I had two 32 inch Curved Sceptre monitors. The set up for the arms was quick and easy once you decide on how you will affix it to your desk. They are well made and I love all the options the arms give you on how you want to set up your dual or more monitors. It took me and my son about 20 minutes (max) to get all set and ready for the monitors. I placed my second monitor in first as I wanted to ensure I had long enough HDMI cables. After get it all done, I moved to the primary monitor. I made sure that the arms were tight prior to doing this as I almost lost my first monitor by not tightening them down. My son and I placed the second monitor into the bracket and it was fine. So we thought I turned around to move the box, turned back and the primary monitor had tilted all the way forward and was lying against a foam pad I had placed on my desk. I checked the screws again. They were so tight the Allen wrench was starting to strip the screw. To say i was disappointed is beyond words. So i rigged up a temporary fix, so i could get my monitors working at least. The other Sceptre I had was a bust and had to be sent back. I got into contact with Ele Tab about my problem as both my monitors were way within the weight limit for the arms. I received and immediate email from them asking about my problem and then they sent me another one, which i got in two days. It took longer to get my new second monitor which I went went and AOC 32 curved at 15 lbs instead of Sceptre. This took longer then I wanted and while waiting Ele Tab would email me checking on how the new arms were holding up. I now have a 32 Sceptre 12.1 lbs and an AOC 15 lbs on each arm. I cannot be happier with Ele Tab, with their product and especially their Customer Service. We have all read others on Amazon who complain about Customer Service, I can say with no problem that Ele Tab earn a customer for life with how fast, professional and how much they care about their customers. I absolutely love my new set up. Thank you Ele Tab, and keep up the good services you provide. ... show more

  • Great Price for Performance, Grommet Hardware
Size: Dual Mount
I purchased the monitor arm as a solution to free up my desk space. It is a solid mount for its price, however, if you are planning to use the grommet hardware, be prepared for some hardware shopping. I have this old desk that is quite small for my use, and as I did not want to buy a new desk I came up with an idea to buy a monitor stand for my monitor and my laptop. As my desk does not have a lip or a prebuilt grommet, my only solution is to drill a hole through the top, which I did, using a 1/2 inch spade bit through a pilot hole. I just have an inch and half of clearance between the drawer and the backplate thus it was very tight. The included hardware could not be used due to the extra clearance needed for the large fastener. Also, the included carriage bolt was not of the best quality, making it extra hard to put the fastener nut on it. This called for a quick trip to the nearest hardware store where I purchase a replacement bolt, nut, and washer. Do take note even if I had enough clearance I wouldn't be able to use the included nut and bolt as it was not threading properly. If you are planning to buy this and attach it using a grommet hole, please do plan to buy: x1 5/16 in x 3 in Carriage Bolt x1 5/16 in Hex Nut or preferred alternative (I used x2) x1 5/16 in Flat Washer. After installing the hardware, the monitor arm sits solidly on my desk with no rattling or movement. ... show more
