    • CAUTION: Great resin quality but poor option for miniatures.

Overall, this resin is great for quality, thus it's 8k. I made some miniatures with this resin and was shocked at how brittle the resin is before and after being cured. carefully removing supports, you are still taking that chance that a support will break of something like a crossbow limb, tail, tip of swords/daggers, no matter how careful you are. I'm curious if mixing this resin with something else may be good for small objects like 2 other resins I use for miniatures would be wise, or if this is more for bigger prints without any fine supported pieces. Still giving it 5 stars because of quality, adhesion and so on. ... show more

I switched from water washable to standard resin and decided to give the Elegoo Upgraded Standard Polymer Resin a try. It's good, a little brittle (not more than any other and less than the water washable) so I started mixing it with Chitu Conjure Tough resin at a 50/50 mix. The resin supports quality prints, washes and cures as written. Someday there will be a resin created with a reduced odor, but this is a common issue. The odor is detectable but doesn't force you out of the room. Great quality and adhesion overall

printed 4 of the test chess pieces that came with the Mars 4. once I actually got the recommended print settings off the Elegoo website (in a byzantine pdf document, nope, can't get the settings in a reasonable place) and I set the plate right, then made sure the temp is stable and there is no chance of light hitting the machine, the results were astounding for the short time spent and the price while this is on sale. sturdy and capable of delicate features. stuff frankly reeks in liquid form, don't let anyone tell you this isn't partially a science project along with whatever you want to do with your printer. to get the models off the plate, simply pour boiling water on the back of the plate and gently wiggle it off with a razor scraper, going between pouring and scraping as needed. everything's come off with this method. my partner will have a blast painting everything we print off, this Mars sale on their printers and resin is a great way to jump into this field. ... show more
