This electric kettle will boil or heat water to the selected temperature quickly, and reliably. It uses Strix electric controls, which is actually a very good thing if you don't realize what it means. Strix develops a range of safety and temperature control systems for appliances, of high quality, and with excellent durability. As an example, after I did some research, the controller in this kettle is rated for over 12,000 cycles. That's awesome. I love the glass of this kettle. It's easy to clean, reduces corrosion you'd get from a metal kettle, and allows easy visibility into the water being boiled. The other awesome part of this kettle is the temperature knob. On the bottom of the kettle there is a small knob protruding into the water that reads the temperature of the water as it's heating, which greatly improves accuracy of heating to selected temp. For the serious tea drinker, the adjustable temperature options are great. Not all tea should be steeped in boiling hot water, and this kettle gets you the right temps for those delicate teas. There's a colored LED base around the glass that indicates the temperature you've selected as well as when the heating is complete. It's beautiful and makes it easy to use. The kettle will also beep when finished with heating. This kettle does maintain selected temperature, provided you read the manual to find out how, it's not obvious at first use. However with how fast it heats and a genuine average use, there's really no need. Just turn it back on if it's been long enough to cool some and let it do it's thing. Your water will still be very hot, so it'll heat it up again very quickly. This kettle so far has been awesome and easy to use. I trust it to be reliable for many years to come. It's a great Electric Kettle, I like that the pitcher is clear so you can see the water and the light ring around it is pretty cool too. I love the temp settings and that you can set it to keep your water warm to hot for over an hour. There's also an auto-off function when you just set it to boil. I use this pot with the boil water function to pour over tea bags for making iced tea and I use the temp setting (160 degrees) to make my Everyday Dose mushroom coffee every morning (yummy). ... show more

Works well and seems to heat the water to the right respective temperatures. Easy to use, no leaks, easy to maintain, the only thing that bothers me is that I've only had it 5 months and the flexible coating over the power button has cracked & broken off entirely. Granted, we have used it every day, several times a day for the past few months, but I would've hoped it'd last longer than it did. It is still functional which is important, just disappointing; I'd imagine the people buying this product are doing so because they need different water temperatures on a fairly regular basis. ... show more

I wanted to wait at least 30 days from the purchase date to write this review. I normally used my tea kettle on stove to boil water for tea or anything else. Well, I was renovating my kitchen and was "stoveless". I decided to give this electric kettle a try and I've been using it ever since. It has multiple temperature controls and it is glass (very important for me). It does offer a large water capacity and I must say, heats up water very fast.
