  • Unbelievably great guitar for the price
The guitar was in great shape when I got it. Slight paint blemish on the back but it's the back so who cares. Sidenote; I've been playing guitar for almost 20 years. And have played in bands on and off in those 20 years so I'm definitely no newbie. I own or have owned Ibanez, Epiphone, Gibson, Fender, PRS etc. Pros.... The neck was fantastic and looks amazing. Frets were level and clean, no filing needed. The tuners and bridge were surprisingly decent but I had plans to put black hardware so tuners and bridge were replaced but what comes on it seemed fine. The neck is slightly wider and thicker than a Telecaster which I personally like. Feels a lot like and ibanez or Schector neck to me. The guitar plays really well, is comfortable and lightweight. At this point it's pretty much the only electric guitar I play anymore. I am unbelievably happy with this guitar. Do a good setup. Check the neck relief, the string height and do a good intonation set and this thing plays like butter. The Cons... Honestly the only con is the pickups, They the bridge pickup especially. Very bright, trembly and harsh. Not that it mattered because I had already planned on dropping a set or Duncan Invaders in it. But yeah, the pickups are trash. The neck pickup was okay. Not great, but okay. Either way, I couldn't get them off and into the trashcan fast enough. LMAO If you don't mind replacing at least the bridge pickup and this is the style of guitar you're looking for I would 100% recommend buying it. ... show more

  • Amazing Value for Money - Roasted Maple Neck
This is my second Censtar, and I have to say I'm impressed. PROS: - Quarter Swan Roasted Maple Neck. That's right, this is not just a maple neck, this is a quarter-swan roasted maple neck. It is not just a finish. Believe me, I confirmed. This being a quarter-swan neck is probably the luck of the draw as my first Censtar did not have a quarter-swan neck, but this one did. See the pictures. I was surprised. The neck feel is amazing, by the way. It is not small, more on the bigger side, but feels good. Probably my favorite part of this guitar is the neck. - Good Pain Job. It has a simple, but well-done paint job. Enough said. - Bridge alignment - Sometimes cheap guitars have cheap alignment on the bridge, making the strings lean more to one side than the other from the center line of the instrument. Both my Censtars had perfect alignment. Great here. - Good Frets - Well pressed frets. No buzzing. They aren't super shiny and could use a better polish, but I haven't experienced excessive buzzing on these. Straight fret job. - Good Tuners - The tuners (although not my preferred style) are solid. I tested the Ratio, they're 18:1, and they feel smooth and solid. I did not have to change them on this guitar, which is something I typically have to do on most. So unless you want a certain style of tuners, you should be more than good with these. - Good Strap Buttons - These keep your strap in place with more of a mushroom tip on them. I typically replace all my cone-shaped buttons with mushroom-shaped ones, but this comes with that stock. Great feature. - Pickups are not bad at all. I measured around 8.5K on the neck and 13.5K on the bridge. They sound just fine and are well-balanced in terms of audio volume. They are not microphonic or anything like that. You can play them and enjoy the guitar. - Full-sized Pots. - Correct Pots – It has a Linear pot for the Vol (A) and an Audio (B) pot for the Tone. This gives the Vol Pot more control. - Has coil split on the humbuckers! CONS: - The bridge hardware seems cheap. The chrome on the bridge saddles was kind of bad, and the bridge is unusually tall where the saddle screws meet the bridge. - One edge of the body (at the bottom of the guitar) was not radiused well, making it look and feel sharp (like a 90-degree). This is something I’ve noticed with Censtars, the edges of the bodies are not very clean and some edges are not rounded over. - Cheap pickup switcher. It has a cheap ( but silent and smooth) breadboard pickup switcher. Works well, and might just keep it because it’s smooth and silent. - The mini switch (to coil split) has three positions when only two are needed. So the bottom position does nothing. I checked and confirmed the wiring. This is a simple fix, however. - The string spacing at the nut is wrong. I measured string spacing at the nut at approximately 34.3mm, while the nut is at 41.6 mm, so it feels and looks narrow. There’s plenty of space to make it wider. I recommend a Tusq XL Nut 5000-00 which has a spacing more of 35.18mm - 35.35mm. ... show more

  • Incredible Value.
Having played many "budget" and "Starter" pack guitars. This one really stands out. I was pleasantly surprised and nearly shocked at how much value is in this guitar. Solid materials and construction. The Tele shape is one of the most universally comfortable shapes for playing seated, as well as Standing. The dual humbuckers sound great, but are also designed with a three way coil tapping feature. They can perform as Normal H-buckers, Single Coils and also as P-90 style single coils. While these coil tapping sounds won't fool strat purists they get some very similar tones. This is a very versatile guitar and perfect for a beginner or an intermediate player. I am using mine as a slide guitar with slightly raised action. It came with 10 gauge strings and a decent setup that only needed slight adjustment. Tuners and hardware feel solid and decent quality. Neck is rigid and straight. did not need to adjust the truss at all. I would highly recommend. ... show more

  • Would buy again, and again.
Color: Relic-Milky Yellow
For the cost, this guitar is an incredible value - I'd buy it again in a heartbeat! Body shape: The overall shape of the guitar, is amazing! It has all the great body curves of a high-end Fender Strat. There is a belly carve, an arm carve, and a nice heel contour like on high-end Strats. There is an additional carve near the high frets. Neck: The long, thin piece of wood looks very new. I had to relic it a little with some sandpaper and a pencil to match the heavy relic of the other parts. Tuning machines: they appear to be of good quality. They are thin on the edges which is different from any other guitar I have owned. Frets: These are finished to a beautiful oval perfection. I don't own a guitar with this level of fretwork. Pickups: are a little microphonic. They could probably use a wax dip. However, they have a great tone to them. Finish: The layer of paint or varnish applied to the body is amazing. At first, I thought this was a printed paint job. But I was able to chip additional paint off the heavy relic finish. I have tried to relic guitars to this degree but it is very well done. The value you get for the price with this guitar is unbeatable - I'd definitely recommend it to new users, seasoned players, or anyone. ... show more
