It works well but about 2 months in, and it can't really exist outside it's changing cradle anymore as the batter dies in about 5 minutes. It's still nice to just have completely stationary in a room but it's not really a fly swatter anymore...

I love this thing! I am finally winning the war. Mass genocide has happened and I am the dictator commiting atrocities. Like an idiot I kept the patio door open to air out the room where my pet rats and breeding rats live in. There is no screen on the door and I don't know what I was thinking keeping it open all day. The smell was catnip for house flies and they had plenty of breeding medium (rat poop). Before I knew it I had a full scale problem on my hands. First I tried the bright yellow glue sticks and they work great but they weren't enough to manage the scale of this problem. I tried a different looking glue stick (Rescue) and they weren't as attracted to it as the bright yellow ones. Then I got Wondercide which works well if you can spray them but it gets stuff slippery and leaves a bit of a residue. Plus I didn't want it to affect the rats gentle respiratory system even though it's advertised as safe for pets. Now on to this Mosiller bug zapper. I am like Serena Williams with this electric tennis racket. It has been very effective!! I am winning the war finally! When you swing at a fly and get the little bastard there is a loud snap crackle pop! If it zapped the fly it's instant death and it drops. If the fly flew into the racket and got trapped it's like on the Green Mile when they didnt wet the sponge using the electric chair: it's like a sparkler, with smoke and a horrible smell like burning hair. At first this was off putting and I worried it would set the house on fire (dramatic paranoia I assure you). Now I see it as a sign of victory and fireworks. The battery lasts pretty long although if you're going to leave it on with the bright light make sure it's the only light source in a dark room and you keep it plugged in to its base or it'll run out of juice eventually. The only downside to this WMD is that the pop of death is pretty loud, which scares the fur babies, especially if its barbequing a stuck fly. I think they're getting used to it but they'll just have to deal with it because I can't have a fly infestation in their room. I actually did get another zapper that has a long handle and swivels, it's great for the ceiling flies and not nearly as loud but I have a harder time telling how effective it is. Go with the Mosiller. You won't be disappointed!! I love this thing!! ... show more

What looked like a badminton racket to me ended up being the best handheld bug zapper racket I had ever seen. You need to set the switch from “Off” to “On 1” for the handheld racket function. On this mode you will need to depress the long white button covering ore than the bottom half the handle, but this is easy to do when gripping the handle and taking a swing with it. Any bug hit within range makes a loud “pak” zapping sound. The thing looks cool with its blacklight type LEDs in stationary mode, or “On 2,” and the fact alone that it even has a stationary mode makes it all the more useful. I will advise buyers that it runs hot quickly if left in this mode, however, and the battery gets drained quicker than I would have liked. This make it’s usage more topical rather than constant, obviously, but it is sure to eliminate all the flying bugs in the room (within the timeframe that it needs in order to eliminate all bugs in the vicinity). Being that I bought the twin pack with two chargers, I maintain that was what made this deal twice as good and very giftable. On conclusion, this is a good buy at face value, but the long term results may be different. More tests will be needed, and the most important test I need to see to fully judge this product’s worth will be the test of time. For now, I say that I love the product and so does the person I gifted my other big zap racket to. ... show more
