Our stylish Mirage X Motion Sensor trash can, in a brushed stainless steel finish with a fingerprint resistant coating, is a sanitary addition to your home. Offering the convenience of hands-free operation, this can fits flush against your wall or cabinet. Intelligent sensor opens when, and only when, you want it to. With the soft close feature the lid gently and quietly descends. A simple touch switch allows for manual operation. Removable polypropylene liner has built in bag fixer to keep you trash bag in place. Uses standard 13G kitchen trash bags - no special order bags needed. Requires 6 AA batteries, not included. I love this trash can! It is very attractive and the motion sensor works very well. I do not accidentally activate the motion sensor because it is located away from traffic. Besides, you need to activate it about 8-9 inches above the sensor. It stays open while you are emptying your debris, then closes after 5 seconds. The opening is larger than some trash cans so that is a great feature. It has a small footprint and will fit in a small area. I really love the fact that it does NOT have an inner bucket. Inner buckets, in my opinion, make it much harder to remove the trash bag. It also takes up more space and is heavier. I subtracted one star because it arrived with a small dent. I think this was a result of not properly packing the trash can. It had almost no padding to protect the sides. These thin metal cans should have padding of some kind (e.g., styrofoam or plastic air pillows). It is a shame that it got dented but it is not very noticeable, so I will keep it. I hope that in the future, the people that are responsible for shipping will pack them better. ... show more

The height is just under countertop. Capacity is just right for a kitchen or large food-related social area. The lid is made of light plastic but has a great appearance. It’s not an issue unless someone sits something heavy on top of it which wouldn’t be wise for any trash can. The lid opens fully with good control and does not hit the wall. The can has somewhat of a narrow opening but nothing any size disposable plates or likewise can’t handle. It has a non-skid bottom. The slightly smaller bags made for a traditional size can just fit this trash can. I’ll buy the correct size bags, which can be found anywhere, once our supply of the old size dwindle down. Removing a full bag and adding a new bag couldn’t be easier. The rectangle plastic ring holding the top of the bag in place could be a little stronger but it sits in the can framed and fully supported. The manual option button to hold the lid open an extended time (15 mins I think) and then manually close it work great. I looked at many trash cans. Many cans take the larger batteries or six+ AA. I have no reason to keep large batteries on hand. I still do not look forward to repeatedly throwing away large or so many small batteries at once. I found minimal options for an ideal size electric trash can. This can uses 4-AA batteries. The finish/appearance is great. There’s no option for odor control but bags come pre-deodorized or scented these days and I change the bag when there’s an odor. What a concept. We couldn’t be happier with this purchase. I have been using this trashcan for a week now and the quality surprised me right when I unboxed it. It had a nice stainless steel finish and a sturdy-feeling lid. There are a lot of features that are nice to have from this can. The sensor was responsive and the touch buttons worked well. I like how there is an indicator countdown that shows how long the lid is open for. Additionally, it has a rechargeable option for the lid and a compartment for a deodorizer pack.
