It's a little on the heavy side, but is well balanced, even with the heavy 4Ah battery. I have a pretty large yard, and have used it over a couple of days and still have not had to recharge the battery yet. This baby has a lot of power that easily cuts thru the many Bradford pear tree shoots that are all around my trees. Tapping the head on the ground to advance the trimmer line works extremely well. I don't have to pound it on the ground, just a light tap on the ground works great. The automated/powered line loading is a fantastic feature. I am amazed at the power of this trimmer, and it is easy to control the speed with the trigger. I did a ton of research before making this purchase. I am extremely pleased. ... show more

The trimmer was much better to handle then my gas trimmer as I could now cut the beds better. Glad I got the 4 AH battery as I went through most of it. The only disappointment was the battery arrived bad and a week latter and I'm still waiting on a replacement. I was able to borrow my neighbors to perform the first use. ... show more

So my beloved old Snapper one finally broke and I had to cave in buying a new trimmer, since I am the wheedwackerlady in our house... And THIS thing is a BEAST!!!! Meaning: Powerful, super easy to use and lasts FOREVER!!!! The battery is more powerful than my last, so I did feel its weight a little in my wrist, but thankfully I got the strap, so once I had it all adjusted perfectly, I went and cleaned out the entire dog enclosure (roughly 40 by 50 feet) plus around the entire house and trees in the front and the garage and the barn ..... all with one charge - and in the end I still had TWO BARS left!!!! IMPRESSIVE!!!! My favorite is the easy use - it only needs a tiny tap and VOILA the string is perfectly long again (which is immediately audible) - and it cuts EVERYTHING that is willing to try to stand up against it LOL!!! I first bought this Ego line trimmer, not being sure about battery operated tools. I was so pleased with this trimmer that I have added the hedge trimmer and blower. I like the auto string insertion. I like the powerful mulching effect of the head. The only problem is that the spool becomes inoperable once the small debris is sucked in and stops the two most important things, the bump feed and the auto string insertion. It requires a removal of the spool and that requires a special tool to hold the spool while the nut is removed and only then can the debris blockage be solved. The problem is that Ego doesn't have the tool or where it is purchased and it looks like I have to make it myself. ... show more

I had a nice cub cadet trimmer but just before I got this I also got an EGO walk behind mower. I figured I am in the EGO system and I was tired of messing with gas and mixing oil. This simplified things and honestly its the best trimmer I've ever had. The battery life is well enough for my small neighborhood yard. I bout this trimmer with an extra battery. Plenty of power and the trimmer line feeds easily. Easy to load the trimmer line with the automatic wind feature. Works so well I don't use my gas trimmer anymore.
