    • Finally have one of these after all these years!
I deal with small engines, and I mean, I rebuild them, fix them, tweak them for power and economy and have a very special affinity towards trimmers, for some odd reason. Well, trimmers all use different style carburetors that all seem to have different style screws for adjusting the fuel trims. I have looked at these kits for years now and just couldn’t justify buying one - until I got this Husqvarna 128 CD that I am working with to sell or whatever. I put a new carburetor on it and it was running really good, but tended to lean out when the throttle was pegged quickly. It working fine at higher RPMs if you were easy on the throttle as you were going up in speed. The new carb had these splined heads that no screwdriver I currently had would work. So, I finally had a reason to buy this set! And, it was well worth the wait! This set covers practically any style two stroke carburetor. I was also really excited to see it included a set of brushes and rods to help clean out carburetors. That is awesome because I normally use a welding torch tip cleaner set that I always seem to misplace somewhere in the dump I call a workshop! There are some designs in this set that I have never seen before, so I feel I am covered for whatever it thrown at me now! The spline one I needed fit perfectly and allowed me to fatten up the mixture on the high screw adjustment on my Husqvarna and now it is revving happy and without issue, like all my trimmers! The screwdrivers feel really good in the hand and are easy to hold onto. The materials also seem pretty robust for what you are going to use them for. Overall, the value of this kit is well worth it considering what all you can do with it! I am so happy I finally bought one of these sets now. I am also happy it was a Hipa brand kit as I have come to rely on Hipa products to get my trimmers and other small engine stuff running! Their products are well worth what you spend on them considering their use and value to your toolbox. Don’t be like me, waiting and waiting for a reason to get a set. You know you will use it if you do any sort of small engine repair, so just get the kit and save yourself the concern of finding the right screwdriver to make your adjustments. I bought this since i love to work on small motors. The carb adjustment tools work great. I bought this for working on a chainsaw i bought. Ordered to adjust the carb on a STIHL blower. Unfortunately the size was not included. Stihl has to be a stickler for the need for their own tools. I had to order a Stihl specific carb adjustment tool. I will keep the kit as it has some uses

This tool kit has pretty much all major brands sizing, great pick up for the money, easy to use, comes with a complete set. And the performance of the tools are great. Can't say anything bad about the kit. Just wish I would have gotten the kit for more tools. If your tired of paying shops hundreds of dollars in repairs, pick this kit up, watch a few videos and make adjustments yourself. ... show more

sad that one cant just use a screw driver to adjust small engine carburators like the old days , but thanks to kits like this it is still possible for the homeowner to adjust them.

    • The tool for the job.
I have chainsaws and a 52cc brush cutter. Chainsaw uses the splined tool and the brush cutter both sizes of A-Circle. I live at 7800' elevation and pretty sure the brush cutter was tuned at sea level. Ran rich with a rough idle. Tuned it and it is now fully awake. I don't get the reviews regarding the tool material being soft or cheap. No, they're not hardened tool steel but, you're adjusting needles not torquing head bolts. ... show more
