  • Super light weight
I bought this power saw to replace my Stihl MS 201tc. I bought a Stihl 201tc, brand new, to replace my Stihl 200 about 10 years ago and the Stihl 201 has been in the shop for about 10 years now. It has never worked and I didn't know what else to do, so I bought an Echo. I might be an Echo guy from now on. This little saw kicks ass! I've been running nothing but Stihl for over 30 years and I thought I was a lifetime Stihl enthusiast. My experience with the Stihl 201tc might be the end of that relationship. The Echo cs2511t has shown me that Stihl is not the only option for a quality climbing saw. I've run about 10 tanks of fuel through the Echo and I'm loving it. I hope it holds up, but even if it doesn't, it has already done what my Stihl 201 never did, which was pay for itself. ... show more

  • It's adorable
This chainsaw is great. Should have bought sooner. I was hesitant because of price tag, but it's worth every penny. Just trimmed some red lipstick palms today. Small size was perfect to skeeze thru all the trunks. The saw is very powerful and just perfect for pruning, trimming, etc. Note that it's hard to judge the actual size from the picture. The saw is super compact, the shipping box it cam in fit in my largish mailbox! ... show more

  • little beast
this saw is a little beast. it may look like a cute little toy but when you start cutting with it you can really feel its power. i work an agroforestry project in hawaii and this is my main saw. the lightweight design allows me to work when its hot and humid without too much fatigue, fits into tight spaces easily and cuts everything its chain touches. this saw has only struggled one time when cutting, i was cutting and 24 inch ohia (very hard wood) log, i forgot to bring my big ms250 stihl saw, it bogged a little and didnt rip through the wood as it normally does, it did cut it though, just slower and with a little more difficulty. keep up your maintenance regular, sharpen or change chains regularly and watch this thing go! ... show more

  • Good light saw, but idling issues
Overall this saw has been great to work with. I find my self using it more than my larger saw. I have had some idling issues and often have to keep my finger on gas to keep it from dying. I would be very careful with this saw. It is so light, it actually has more tendency to want to kick back towards you than a heavier saw would. Also I could see where someone might not be paying attention and accidentally brush the saw up against their leg when handling the saw with one had. ... show more

  • It is a little beast.
Only weighs about 6.5 lbs fully loaded. Cuts like a big saw. Easy to start. Only things I don’t like is it was pretty expensive and I can’t see the gas level because the plastic is black. I’m 70 years old and my Stihl was getting too heavy for me. I can cut firewood again.

  • Saw is great, Echo warranty not so much.
Saw runs great. Chain break was broken from new, I didn't notice it right away, I really don't use it much. Only had the saw for one year, residential use. Contacted Echo, was told by an Echo representative that if purchased through Amazon there is no warranty, it is void. Maybe the rep I talked to was in error, but unfortunatly not worth pursuing anymore. I will no longer purchase any new Echo products. The warranty is not what it seems. ... show more

  • Love it and hate it.
Sure there’s a lot of power in a very lightweight size. It feels great to saw large trees with a tiny saw. It’s fun. Those are the pros. The cons: starting the saw is great half the time and frustrating the other half. Once it gets some use you’ll notice it waver from the good path. You’ll end up with a love hate relationship. Cleaning the saw filter helps with poor starting. The price for what you get I think is the biggest slap in the face. It’s a good saw but shouldn’t cost anymore than 350. It’s all plastic shell. Lost the plastic piece that goes over the fuel lines on top first day. I’m going to keep using it till I can’t but I bought it to compare it to my Milwaukee m18 hatchet. The hatchet is slightly heavier but starts every time and has slightly slower cuts but by no means less efficient in regards to power. Biggest difference is about 3 inches less bar length. So cutting anything wider than 8in dbh will be a struggle. ... show more

  • A keeper!
This saw screams like a banshee and cuts as good as it screams! Of the 3 saws I have (including a Husky Rancher 455), this one gets used 80% of the time. Light weight so you can use it all day. No, it won't power through a hardwood with brute force but get it up to full speed with a sharp chain and it will easily handle 10-14 inches. I cut with it 2-3 days a week on 64 acres of woods. You won't be disappointed! My ONLY disappointment is the small size of the gas tank, but I am sure it is a trade off for less weight. ... show more
