This machine is very miniature! But it runs and operates similar to a full sized machine. It came fully set up, which is nice as it shows you how the thread / bobbin feed line is supposed to be fed and set. The manual itself is a bit confusing and tough to follow - so the fact that the machine had a white spool installed helped with understanding how to pull a new thread through the machine for use. This came with a cool little starter sewing kit - it contained several colors of thread, including a couple white, a couple pink needles, a thimble, a few extra spools, etc. Very nice. The power cord and foot pedal attachment - these are very short. The pedal will not reach the ground. The power cord will require an extension. For what it is, the build quality is fairly impressive. I wouldn’t use this to sew entire outfits or a large piece, but for small jobs and quick patch/fixes, it serves its purpose. ... show more

Very cute and retro, but unlike the ones you'll find in actual thrift stores, this actually works! Pretty much ready to go out of the box, you can use batteries or plug it in and start sewing right away. It even has a work light that shines on your cloth. The cord adapter is short, so depending on height of the table and where your outlet is, plan for an extension cord. Comes with an extra bobbin of white and a whole sewing kit (with hand needles and thread spools) from which you can wind your color of choice around the two empty bobbins included. The instructions are not worded/translated the best and no real how-to diagrams, so thank God this is user friendly and came pre-threaded and set up. Little table extender does not really lock onto machine, so don't depend on it a ton for stabilizing anything. But the lightweight, small and user friendly design make this ideal for small hands and small projects-- or a quick and easy foray for someone just seeing if sewing piques their interest. ... show more

It small and easy to use. That is really what matters here. You can take this on travel and all. I really like it. I didn't need anything big or major. So this came in as a Life Savor. Sometimes you need something fix kids' clothes without having to do it by hand.

I got this for 1 of my daughters. We are both learning how to sew so this a great beginner machine. Love the little kit and accessories it comes with. Still learning like I said but great so far.

I think this is a good basic and lightweight machine for travel or backup. It also comes with a booklet/operation manual. One downside is that the cord is short. Another is that there is no carry case. The box is flimsy and tore during shipment. I also was unable to fit all the pieces back into the box once I opened it. These "pieces" comprise a kit and are a nice addition to the product: thread, bobbins, a tape measurer, scissors, and more. ... show more

If you're new to sewing or are looking to get into sewing, this is the best sewing machine you can start with that will get you to where you need to be! Even if you are experienced, this is a really great sewing machine for how simple its design is, while also allowing you all the tools and modifications that you need in terms of configurations so that you can do the proper sewing that you need to do. It is actually really lightweight and pretty compact, to the point where you can carry it around wherever you need to go, making it that much better, and even coming With a full set, so you can get sewing right away! I'm already somewhat familiar with sewing, but I'm so glad I found this, because it has everything I need, and I won't have to go shopping around for little meticulous things, wondering if I forgot something or not.     • My roommate is teaching me to sew!
While I do know how to hand stitch, sewing machines have remained a mystery to me, although I have wanted to learn. I was originally taught a bit on a treadle machine, but that was quite different from modern machines which tend to run away from me, or else break. So, I got this one to try to learn, without destroying my roommate's machine. So far, I like it. It has much simplified controls, and I actually feel like I know what I'm doing! First off, this will NOT take the place of your full size sewing machine but it is good for a beginner to learn or for quick and dirty jobs that don't need complicated stitching if you don't want to bring out the big sewing machine.
