  • Powerful, cost effective, very helpful tool and arm stretcher!
Style: VERSA Tiller (Dropship ONLY)
Assembly - a little fiddly, but not overly, can be done with one person easily. Use a wrench set, no power tools if you are not familiar with setting torsion, you'll crush the handles! Amazing, great value for Money. We had a lot of roots in a newly cleared area for a vegetable patch. It's got plenty of power - yes it nearly ripped my arms from my body as it tore the roots out of the ground, and yes as expected some of them did get wrapped around the tines. However, what would've taken a day to prepare a 20ft by 80ft hard packed grassed area was completed in a couple of hours over 2 days (rest break / allowed some moisture to sink in) - this has become a corn patch. As for our existing vegetable garden, it dug down deep and mixed in last years compost, decomposed roots, chicken poop etc.. very nicely. Typically a days work to turn and dig in was a couple of hours, over two days, after watering a little and allowing it to settle. The ground is so light and fluffy, rich in nutrients ( pitch black ) the vegetables and very happy and weeding is a breeze. No longer digging out roots for packed dirt! Removed the outer two rotors for 'weeding' between rows, had to back-off the gas as to not not 'eat everything' - very quick exercise, worked wonders so not as much round-up needed this year. HINT: when starting off a fresh area, let the Tiller DIG-DOWN a few in inches by holding it in place, this will lighten the stress on your arms with it running away on hard packed dirt. Let it move along at it's own pace, WARNING hold tight if there are roots it will bounce and throw dirt, keep everyone far away. NOTE: keep clogged grass and roots off the rotors, you can tell if its blocking up by listening to the engine working harder, turn-off, tip it back and pull out anything that is wrapped around anything (look close to where the rotors are connected together) ... show more

  • Super powerful in the garden!
Style: VERSA Tiller (Dropship ONLY)
This machine handles easily and performs very well. Great speed control and dices the dirt with ease The cultivator and versatility of switching it, makes the soil ready for planting. It is a bit heavy for a smaller person, and they need to improve on the direction of grips that powers the tines, for smaller hands they are difficult to hold very long. ... show more

  • Great machine, buy it but terrible instructions
Style: VERSA Tiller (Dropship ONLY)
Compact, powerful and priced well. Really chees up the ground and does not bounce you around. Written and picture instructions are worthless, just not right but it is a simple machine so with a little mechanical ability you can put this together in 15 minutes, half of which you will stare in disbelief of the instructions, lol. ... show more

  • Once it's built it works great!
Style: VERSA Tiller (Dropship ONLY)
As stated in other reviews assembly instructions leave a lot to be desired. Directions are vague and the pictures even worse. Having said that, once it is put together, IT PERFORMS WELL AND DOES THE JOB! I am totally satisfied with the machine itself and would give it 5 stars easily. Also. all the pieces and parts where in the box and it goes together very well once one figures out what goes where. Just an update: have finished tilling my wife's 25' x 25' garden space. This machine did all that was asked of it and did it well! ... show more

We have a tiller on our tractor but this works great for keeping the weeds down between the rows in our garden. Love the 2 different width options

  • Does the job it was intended to do
Style: VERSA Tiller (Dropship ONLY)
I bought this tiller to replace a 20-year-old Craftsman cultivator that no longer runs reliably. I had previously purchased an Earthquake Chipper Shredder about five years ago and was happy with its performance. I started shopping around for a name brand tiller and found this one at a substantially lower price. Assembly was straight forward. The tiller comes with a 20 oz bottle of oil to add before starting. Be aware the motor takes less than 20 oz. Starting is quick one or two pulls is all it takes. I used it to till a new garden space and it cut through the sod well though it does bounce around a lot and requires a firm grip to control. Took me about an hour and a half to till a 15' x 20' plot. Overall, I would recommend this product. ... show more

  • Not bad for the price.
Style: VERSA Tiller (Dropship ONLY)
PROS: Great little unit for my 20x20 home garden. Started on 3rd pull. Maneuvers easily, pretty straight forward to use. Performed well first time out mechanically. CONS: Horrible assembly manual if you arenโ€™t not mechanically inclined to figure out on your own. Missing bolts to assemble the Handle. Had to go to Loweโ€™s to buy bolts and nuts. You are provided more oil than you need to fill it so make sure you watch how much you pour in. Left side panel over tiller kept sliding back when dirt would hit it. Didnโ€™t hurt anything but Iโ€™d have to stop and push it back in the slot. It is a bit light duty but I wanted a tiller for few times a year use for my garden and was tired of the hassle renting one. Time will tell how well it holds up. ... show more
