Installation was fairly easy, I watched the installation video and I installed it as instructed. As soon as it was detected by my PS5 it formatted itself after some prompts and was ready for use, and was told I had a read speed of 6910 MB/s. The only drawback is the voucher included inside the box for 14 days of Playstation Plus Premium, the website where you go to redeem the offer has taken down the online redemption and there's no current way to redeem the offer that's both inside and on the package. Which is lame, considering it's one of the reasons I went with this drive. So to prospective buyers: ignore the offer on the front of the box, at least until they fix it. You're still getting a great drive, with plenty of space for your gaming needs, just no PS plus trial included. At least for now. ... show more

Will upgrade for sure at some point, but great 1TB upgrade for PS5. Yes, there are cheaper brands, but I’d advise against something not approved or recommended by Sony due to warranty. Easy install and works. Little parts in the Playstation are a pain, but fairly quick and doesn’t take an IT genius. PlayStation site does have instructions and good support if you’re unsure or can’t get it to work. Zero problems with heat and much better than external drives. ... show more

Removed the side panel of my PS5, popped in this drive, closed it back up, started the machine, it prompted me to format it, then was ready to use. Transferred a couple hundred GB from the internal drive to this secondary drive using the system storage utility, moved it over in under a minute. Easy to install and setup! You get the full 4TB of space except for 308MB. Read rate is only 6,538 not 7,300. When going to redeem the 14 day Playstation Plus code, kept getting error message about my email or serial number already been used. The box did have tape on the top, but looked sealed good. Even without the 2 week trial that is a bust, still a good buy! Best part is you can play the games off of it. System counts it as regular storage space. ... show more
