Description

It’s possible for eliminating insects to be both effective and stylish. The DynaTrap Mosquito and Insect Trap with Pole Mount is designed to blend seamlessly into your indoor and outdoor décor while delivering three layers of protection against flying insects such as mosquitoes. Each trap provides up to ½ acre of coverage. The easy-to-use pole stand makes placing your DynaTrap extremely simple. Just assemble the stand, place near insect activity, and turn it on. Once turned on, the UV fluorescent bulb generates a warm light, attracting insects. The innovative twist on/off feature allows you to easily turn the trap on or off and also ensures insects remain securely inside the trap even when it is turned off. This DynaTrap Insect Trap provides not one, not two, but three layers of protection against flying insects such as mosquitoes, biting flies, wasps, moths, and more. The UV bulb uses warmth and light to attract insects while the trap’s coating emits a scent similar to human breath (carbon dioxide) that mosquitoes find irresistible. Once the insects are close to the trap, the whisper-quiet fan traps them inside until the time of disposal.

  • Does a great job, but Buyer be aware...
First, let me start off as saying, this is a great product. In fact, I have two Dynatraps. It catches lots of bugs and keeps the yard mostly bug free. There are two issues with product. One is, the replacement bulbs are a pain to change. You have to go up under trap (fan) and unscrew 4 tiny screws and then inside, bulb is held in place by another screw with a tab. It's not difficult, but you have to change the bulb every 3-4 months,( I use it for 8 months) and the unit is plastic, and taking the screws out several time, does strip them. There needs to be a better design for bulb replacement. Second issue is, the pole. The pole is great for hiding most of the electric cord. However, on one of my traps, (4 years old) the middle plastic bracket snapped off. The electric cord is threaded thru the pole. There is no replacing it and there is no way to feed cord with plug thru the pole. So it is useless. I have a dynatrap that works when plugged in but cannot use it because it is attached to a broken pole. It would be better if there was a way to get the cord with plug out so that I could just hang the Dynatrap on a hook. That said, I do like this product and am buying a new Dynatrap. However, I will be purchasing the one that I can use a sheppard's hook with. ... show more

  • Works great, hard to replace the bulb
We used it all of last summer, it worked great. Then the bulb ran out. I ordered it, my husband tried to change it but the top and bottom part around the bulb, that you have to open to replace it, came apart. You can see in Fig 1 what I'm talking about. The little bit about making sure those don't separate is the last line of the instructions in small print. But if you take it apart, and you lose the female part down the slot, you can't just plug it back in. I pulled the female plug out from the casing with needle nose pliers, cleaned out the casing put in the new lightbulb, cleaned the fan too with a toothbrush (carefully!! can't get the wires in the middle wet). I attached a little wire bag closer to the female part so I can easily pull it out if it gets disconnected again. I cleaned the inside of the plug too, it had sat for months disconnected. Once all put back together it worked perfectly. We're in the north east Georgia mountains and bus reign here. When I first called Dynatrap for help on how to fix the fact the plug had been disconnected I was not helped and the staff were rude. ... show more

  • Great machine, Don’t buy Dynatrap with pole as pole is poorly constructed
Buyer beware. Dynatrap works great, I purchased 2 of them. However, when we put both of them together, they leaned. I sent one back thinking it was missing a piece at the bottom and they sent me a replacement. But the other one in the box was the same way and the new one came in that way as well. I was very upset. We ended up cutting the end of the cord off, pulling cord out of the pole and taking the pole off of the Dynatrap setup. My husband then put new ends on cords and we mounted them on the posts outdoors. They are so much better this way. So if you buy, don’t buy the ones already on the poles. Not worth it. ... show more

  • Trap works fine, stand is not so great
Let me say the actual unit seems to really work, in 4 days noticed a real reduction in the bugs. The issue I have is with the stand. No matter how much I tighten the bottom nuts the unit leans. Also, there are rust beads running down the stand after only 4 days outside. I think the stand has some structural issues. Also, even though the sections are locked together they come apart when trying to move. ... show more

  • Worked great but fan quit working after less than a year
This worked great for the summer in Mississippi where there are tons of bugs of every size. It was easy to assemble and the long cord makes it perfect for outside. However, we put it away for the winter and when I plugged it in this morning to use it, the fan no longer works. I wish I could get a replacement because for $150 I would expect this to last longer than 4 months of use. ... show more

  • Requires alterations to be effective
This device catches stuff but only if you can solve two serious design flaws Flaw #1: The bottom of the catch container has gaps which are big enough for mosquitos to escape from. Flaw #2: The only thing keeping the bugs in the catch container is the air flow from the fan. Everything tries to fly out when you try to empty out the catch container. I purchased this NoSeeUm mosquito net (~$8.50) to solve these design flaws https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G2ZG4D1/ After attaching that mosquito net to the unit, I began seeing mosquitos crawling around in the net every morning and a week later I started seeing a small pile of dead bugs at the bottom of the net = SUCCESS. Another possible solution might be to get sticky paper and shape it large enough to cover the bottom interior of the catch container. This would solve both design flaws but you'd have to replace the sticky paper every 1-3 months or so. I kind of wish I had paid more and gotten the much larger unit because it has a stronger fan / brighter lights (however it also has the same two design flaws as this unit). This product is more niche in where you place it I guess. ... show more

  • Works as advertised
Camping for 4 months with our 40' motorcoach and the Flys where out of control, literally could not sit out with out getting attacked. After 2 wks saw big improvement. We were spending alot of time outdoors and cooking everyday. It catches hundreds of Flys per week as we have to empty it at least once per wk. It's been about 3 months now never have unplugged and is working like a charm. I would highly recommend and would purchase again. There's nothing to purchase just uses electricity. It's not perfect but works as advertised. ... show more
