This is a great side that puts off quite a bit of heat but is also portable enough to take to a tailgate or campsite. Would recommend getting the stand and case for it. I have a friend who has one of these and after seeing it in action, I decided to get one for myself. I will say, to get the air flow flowing properly, I highly recommend buying the stand that goes underneath it. In general, it’s very good fire pit, and it puts out lots of heat. I bought this product, used it twice and the handle for the log grate broke. Because it was past the return window I was not able to return it for a replacement. I would not recommend purchasing this product. Duraflame is a well known company. Wouldn’t you think their product would last more than 2 uses. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I bought it on clearance for $100. It will only take very small logs but it flames light nicely. I thought it would generate less smoke than it does. But it is still better with smoke and flame light than my open cut off burn barrel pit. Also you can use a burn barrel lid to cover the Duraflame between uses. ... show more

    • We really liked it but...
Once going it burned the firewood pretty cleanly with greatly reduced smoke. It does put out a good bit of heat thats mostly directed upwards and very little to none towards your legs and feet. Honestly it needed to be 2-3 inches wider and 4-6 inches deeper to allow longer logs and another layer added for more heat output. They claim this size should warm 7 people but I'd guess its more like 3-4 esp if its chilly. After 2 uses the grate would not come out of the pit, either the pit or the grate warped locking them together so it was returned. ... show more
