  • A significant problem with it
This is a well-made heater that works extremely well, when I can get it to work. Here’s the problem: it won’t light unless it’s very level. Its level-detecting switch is so twitchy and sensitive that I finally had to defeat it (override it) altogether, and this heater is securely placed indoors on a flat and perfectly level and smooth floor. Except for that, it’s a five-star product that’s easy to set up and operate. And the three-setting gas-flow valve is, unlike some other units, reasonably easy to read. Note: the photo of the product on the Amazon site is not the product I received. For one thing, the level-detecting switch is missing. But that's not the only thing that's different. A tip-over feature on any heater that could start fire is a great idea unless it fights the user. A less-critical switch would solve the problem and ensure safety. Another problem with this heater: your thumb can go numb from having to hold the button in. It takes way too long for you to be able to release it without the heater going off. The best way around this is to light the unit with a propane torch (which you shouldn't have to do). ... show more

  • will not stay lit unless you hold the button
This heater will not stay lit. I have held the button down for two minutes and it still goes out as soon as I let go.

  • it works fine and gives off a good amount of heat
Lasted a few months. When it worked, it works fine and gives off a good amount of heat. The safety feature that turns the heat off in the event the flame goes out (some kind of thermocouple?) is junk, unfortunately, and it would turn off on its own after just a minute or so. Of course, the button you have to hold to start it requires an insane amount of force to depress, which really hurts your thumb after a while. Eventually I used a clamp to hold down the button so I could get it to stay on for more than a minute or two*, but then it just stopped working entirely so I threw it in the trash. * This is very unsafe. Don't do this! ... show more

  • Dont expect a long lasting product.
These propane heaters work for a few weeks and thats about it. This one is my 3rd attempt on finding a decent propane heater that can atleast last a month and they all fail at about 2-3 weeks.

  • Its a piece of crap. HARBOR FREIGH5 HAS A 30$ ONE THAT WORKS GREAT. And NO, i dont work for H.F.
It worked fine at first. After 3 tanks of fuel you have to hold the safety button till your finger hurts . Won't stay lot on low setting.

  • Very nice, works well, but cheap. Read my post as well as others.
Worked great! Bought for our tailgate and my garage in the winter! I read other people's comments about the knob. So, I haven't even tried to use the know for turning off/on. I only use the knob for Low, Med, Hi settings and use the tank open/close as my turning off/on. Seems to work fine.

  • Check usability on arrival
Recieved with a broken igniter. I fixed myself, because it was cold and I didn’t want to wait for shipping and return. But it still works almost a year later.
