I picked up this knee brace after experiencing knee pain, swelling, what felt like a ligament strain. Wasn't sure what caused it, only knew that I was having trouble bending and standing on the knee for long. It felt like the knee was going to buckle. [That's a problem when you're walking dogs.] So I found this knee brace and thought the side stabilizers would help. It did and they did. I put it on and immediately felt the difference in standing, turning, and walking. It gave me the support I needed until the swelling subsided and knee felt stronger. The only reason I give it 4 rather than 5 stars is that after a few days, it seemed the brace began to slip out of place and fall down. It's possible that I wasn't pulling it tight enough when putting it on, however I was surprised by the slipping. Otherwise, I found this knee support device really helpful and timely for my needs. ... show more

This knee brace is pretty comfortable except for the straps that cross behing the knee and it binds and begins to hurt after a bit. This was provided with an extra sleeve to slip on under the device to make it more comfortable. the ribbed rubber/latex added above and below the knee area irritates the skin. A stretch, mesh sleeve was provided to reduce skin irritation, but was totally undersized and could not be put on my knee and I have small calf muscles. Not wearable which is unfortunate as that was a good idea. I do wear the brace as it provides kneecap support, and is comfortable for short periods (except for skin binding). This is one of many brands I have purchased; all tend to bind behind the knee even if designed to be open-backed. They just don't fix the problem. Update 4 Oct 23: Changed from 3 to 4 stars. By attaching the cross straps as high up as possible, that improves both support and reduces behind the knee discomfort. Duofort provided also me a different sleeve made with enough stretch and improves comfort. ... show more

I'd say they run large or to size. 5'3" and 205 lb and a large is plenty big for my knee! The brace is supportive and comfortable that I can wear it most all day and not be fussing with it like a slip on brace I had before. I'd just be mindful of the criss-cross straps can be itchy (even with the sleeve) if they sit in the back of the knee, so I adjust them higher and they wear perfectly. ... show more

This is a very good brace! Unfortunately I ordered it too big and the flaps behind my knee criss cross about 6 in. Therefore I end up with a ton of material bunched up behind my knee after I wear it for a while. I tried to exchange it for a smaller size but the price had changed to almost double. Brace arrived on time, and I put it on immediately. Took me two tries to get it right. Brace fits perfectly. Hold knee in place sucurely. Made walking better just have to make sure not to over tighten the straps. Don’t want to cut off your circulation. Brace is very well made.

It's easy to to put this brace on with two Velcro 'lobes' at the top and bottom then two stretchy bands that Velcro. The stretchy bands can be criss-crossed how ever you like. There is an opening at the knee that is padded like a little donut. Also comes with a very stretchy and long under stocking that you put on first. It makes it very comfortable to wear.
