My bed is an 8 inch memory foam mattress, and in the last year I've noticed a bit of an indent in the center of the mattress, so I hoped this topper would help make the mattress more comfortable for a while longer rather than having to replace it. It definitely has made it more cushioned and comfortable, and I'm experiencing less back pain. I chose not to wash the topper before using it as I felt that it needed to be washed in a front loader or agitator-less washer, which I do not have. It fluffed up fairly well, and has been comfy, but I think it would be more fluffy with a wash and dry cycle. Some areas are flatter than others. Although this topper is advertised as "cooling," I have found it to be rather warm. I've actually turned my electric blanket down several notches and am staying toasty. While this is nice in the cooler weather, I have concerns about how warm it may be in the summer months. I will wash and dry it before then, and maybe with the fluffing up and removing stiffeners used in manufacturing it will be cooler. I will update this review when I do. And speaking of laundering, the instructions are very clear: machine wash in cold water, only non-chlorine bleach, tumble dry low, cool iron, no dry cleaning. Easy peasy. So, if as the topper doesn't get too hot in the warmer weather, I will be very happy with it. ... show more

    • Helps a lot with pain and comfort
I got this to help with an old mattress that I sleep on sometimes when my spouse and I work opposite shifts. Both of us have back issues and this topper helps with the discomfort because it adds a layer of support to the mattress itself. I will not say this is some amazing game changer of a topper but much better than most anything else I have tried and the fact that it is washable to get dust mites and allergens out of it is awesome. This topper basically brings back life to an old mattress and then adds a little additional support on top of that. I did not find it super breathable, but I sleep hot so I could just be me. My other mattress is a cooling mattress so my comparison could be off. I did not deduct stars for that. I wasn't super hot, just not cool like it seemed to imply. I would recommend this for anyone looking to bring some life back to their mattress, or to add some more support to the mattress they have.
