Unlike many so-called blackout curtains, these block light! Almost no curtains will block all light; that's called a wall, or maybe shutters. These are the best I've tried. I'd previously purchased a shorter size that was almost long enough, but not quite. After a couple years of being frustrated by light coming in at the bottom of the window, I finally decided to try the longer version. They are slightly longer than I'd prefer and almost reach the floor, but fortunately we have curtains that hang in front of them that are just a bit longer. Without other curtains, these aren't necessarily the most attractive, but they do their job and that's what is important to me. The grey is a pretty nice color, actually. They are thick and decent quality, so they would be okay on their own, just not exactly upscale. What I need now is some kind of covering for over the window to block light that comes in at the top! I've bought these drapes in 4 different colors and various sizes. The first ones are about 6 years old and still look beautiful. They are excellent at darkening a room. In the winter they keep the room warmer in the summer they help the room stay cooler. The fabric has a smooth and beautiful finish, not shiny. I highly recommend. The pair I just ordered is the same excellent quality as the first ones. The media could not be loaded. I LOVE these curtains. I purchased in the navy color. I have them in both my living room and bedroom. They block the light very well in the brightest parts of the day. The material is soft but still looks very elegant. They seem to be of great quality. I do wish they were a bit cheaper considering it’s per panel but curtains are normally on the pricier side. I needed curtains to help with sun control for a sliding glass door that is 8' high and 12' wide. I bought the white but was unsure because I didn't want "blackout" curtains and I didn't want thick curtains that would stack too deeply. As it turns out, these are perfect for what I wanted! They block direct sunlight yet the room stays light and airy. The fabric feels way more expensive than the price reflects. The feel is soft, like silk. The curtains had a few wrinkles from the packaging, but I used a medium iron on them and they turned out beautifully. The photos show how perfect they look while covering the sliding glass doors and how perfectly they stack when open. I could not be happier with my choice. ... show more
