This fan was recommended to us by a home eco- specialist. We purchased the wrong version of the fan (without the light) and went through all kinds of shenanigans to return it (our own doing), but TEAK products was patient and wonderful. They helped at every step. Now. we have this wonderful, quiet fan installed and working well.     • Good, but weird.
This fan was easy to install. I did a retro-fit into a finished bathroom. I cut the existing hole a little bigger. The bracket and removable back panel make it super easy to install. The noise level when running is fine. It does an EXCELLENT job evacuating steam from my bathroom. It's so powerful, I can't just friction fit my bathroom door closed like I used to. It will literally pull the door open. I have to make sure the door latches. There were some real negatives though. For starters, this isn't really the fan I wanted, but Panasonic has muddied the waters so bad on picking out a unit, it was incredibly difficult to find the right one for my situation. After not being able to get one in a reasonable amount of time from Panasonic directly, I ordered this one. It's super expensive and has features I do not need such as the timer setting. The biggest negative and a bit of a warning to DIY'ers... I installed this fan completely and flipped on the light. It worked fine. I flipped on the fan. Nothing. I quickly shut the switch off assuming I must have wired something wrong. I took the fan down and measured voltage to the fan. I removed the switches in the wall and measured voltage. Everything seemed fine. I reinstalled everything. I turned the fan switch on and still nothing. I was pretty confident I had everything wired correctly. As I stood there and tried to figure out what was wrong, the fan started turning. And that's the warning. This fan won't do anything when you flip the switch. It's a slow start and it builds up speed over time. I don't know the official time, but I'd say at least for the first 5-10 seconds, the fan literally will not turn after you flip the switch. Then you'll hear it slowly getting faster and faster. I don't mind it at all now, but it caused me some installation pain. It's also just weird that you flip the switch and nothing happens. I'd imagine guests would wonder how to turn the fan on after they've turned on all the switches. ... show more

    • Quiet fan, works great!
This vent fan works great! Easy install for my husband! We like that you can set it to stay on for a certain amount of time once you flip the switch on, so it goes off on it's own. We're going to put the condensation module on it, so we don't have to worry about the kids forgetting to turn it on, but it will go on automatically when they get things too steamy when showering. It is also MUCH quieter than the fan we had in there previously. ... show more

We bought 3 of these with lights and had them switched to go on with the other bathroom lights and the fan to switch separately, as we leave the fans on for air exchange. The fan is super quiet which we like. The light is warm white (3000K) and looks very yellow. I am now disconnecting the light portion and having another light installed instead because the light color was so bad I couldn't find a paint that worked. I called to see if there was a different replacement color (there is not) and also found that the replacement led bulb is $141. I would buy the fan again, but would definitely skip the light option. ... show more

The fan unit is great but the wiring instruction in the diagram is extremely stupid. The unit has light and exhaust fan but instructions show four different connections switches. If anyone has trouble installing it. I hope the second picture helps. I figured out the wiring i took me a long time and a lot of trouble. ... show more

    • Embarrassingly Quiet Fan!
I've had to replace or install new bathroom exhaust fans multiple times over the years, and I've come to Panasonic as my go-to brand for quiet, sturdy, reliable fans that last a long time. However! If your family members make lots of noises when using the bathroom, then you won't want to install this in an entrance or otherwise publicly accessible bathroom, if you know what I mean. Better get a cheap Broan or NuTone instead--they're loud enough to provide any embarrassing noises with ambient sound cover. But if you want a fan that clears the steam from a hot shower rapidly, and without much hassle, then this one is for you! The plug-in units are especially amazing. Also note, I recommend getting slightly more than the recommended CFM's for a bathroom because they standard formula calculates the bare minimum. ... show more

I had a challenge to do the wiring in fan but after a few moments drawing out the path in a diagram worked well and I and the customer was extremely pleased as to the quality and ease of installation for a new install. Best fan install yet for me with lots of exhaust as expected.
