  • Exactly what i was looking for!
Color: Green Noise Gate
Really needed a noise gate to improve my live sound for shows. I heard a lot of great things from this pedal and its great! It does exactly what it was designed to do. Cancels out any feedback from your amplifier and keeps it absolutely silent! Its also nice and small, so it doesn't take up to much space from your pedal board. Its very easy to use and its simple. This pedal doesn't use batteries, so you will have to use a power supply or a 9V Power Cord to power it up. If your looking for a pedal that use's batteries, this won't help you. It's still a great pedal to have to your collection and it'll clean up your guitar sound well! i recommend this to any guitarist that needs an nice, affordable, small pedal! Not a bad deal ... show more

  • This little guy does it all and very well
Color: Green Reverb
The Donner Verb Square is a delightful surprize. First thing I noticed is that the packaging that the Verb Square came in is quality and class. It is designed for long term protection of this little powerhouse. Next, Donner included a simple single sheet of crip notes: just enough to tell you what you need to know to sail this amazing little pedal. Then the pedal is nicely designed and well manufactured. The layout is simply ergonomic. It provides what is needed in an orderly and Spoc-logical fashion. It oozes from it's very essence that the Donner Verb Square is rugged. It is not fragile. The stout metal case is built like an Army tank, the all metal full bypass footswitch is well manufactured and made ruggedly, the bright red LED is mounted low in the top of the housing so that the foot switch absorbs the weight of a foot so that a foot will not normally and naturally tap to damage the LED. The jacks are stout with a positive reassuring 'click' as the instrument cord is firmly seated within the jack signaling a firm connection and reliable signal. Even the green paint is well done and quality. In Chinese fashion, the Verb Square is decorated with a random white helm wheel that somehow seems to just belong. The selection of quality pots and knobs nicely operate the main controls. The largest knob selects one of about every reverb ever used: Room, Hall, Church, Spring, Plate, Studio and Mod. The three smaller knobs provide a fineness with keen accuracy and positive utility when dialing together the perfect balance of E. LEVEL, DECAY and TONE control as described in the provided cheat sheet. Thankfully, the Donner engineers apparently made the pedal be an overall gain of one. What this means is that when you step on the footswitch, the signal volume does not go noticeably up or down: it just gives this smooth addition of reverb to the signal. That means the Verb Square can be placed in the effects loop in an amplifier between the preamp stage and poweramp stage without causing problems of feedback, noise, volume level changing or other undesirables when switching reverb on or off. I tried it on my Ampeg VL-501 in the effects loop: switched on and whoopee sweet reverb; switched off and reverb goes away with the rest of the amp personality, and, therefore, my tone, unchanged except for the desired addition or removal of reverb. The individual reverb effects are organic and natural. I liked them all. Even the massaged Mod setting is well done. This little guy is attractive, ergonomic, rugged, organic and natural. What more could one ask for? Well . . . It does all of that on a budget. It is very price competitive with its competitors. It is made for poor musicians to have a very well built, space conserving, organic sounding, functional and attractive pedal that is frugal and made for years of reliable multi reverb mode operation. As the movie critics would say, Bravo!! Two thumbs up!!👍👍 ... show more

  • Works great! Good selection of Reverb
Color: Green Reverb
Donner has continued to leave me surprised with their line of cheep and easy to use music gear. I don't think I've yet been disappointed by a Donner product. For under 100 bucks you get a nice Reverb that should work for most normal needs! Good stuff.

  • well made and fits my budget.
Color: ABY Box
I just got the ABY box and it works perfectly. I use it to switch between my Strat and Tele. I couldn't justify the cost of other ABY boxes on the market when I could get the same result with this for considerably less money. Another thing I like is it's compactness. I recommend.

  • Bright, solid and accurate (too bright?)
Color: Black Tuner
This is a well built pedal, no question about it. The foot switch/button is smooth, positive and quiet. This is a silent pedal when not activated so it also serves as a handy mute feature for anything past the tuner. Accuracy is spot-on in accordance with my Korg tuner (Y-splitter with the two side-by-side), the Donner matches approximately 1 cent accuracy - this is more than sufficient for ANY gigging or recording that I ever plan to do. The bottom of the pedal includes nice rubber pads that keep the pedal in place on hard surfaces, yet they're thin enough that Velcro/hook-and-loop will protrude enough to mount to a board with Velcro without having to remove the rubber feet - while this seems like a minor thing, IMO this is huge and I wish more pedal manufacturers did this. The case is super tough (metal) and the surface has a nice matte finish which reduces reflection and glare from bright lighting - again this seems like a minor feature but it makes a big difference in the real world and it goes to show that Donner has thought through EVERY detail of this pedal. And I have found that what is apparent on the outside is consistent with the attention to detail given to the inside. Of course as with most pedals it does not come with a DC power supply but if you're reading pedal reviews you probably already know this :) and you probably also have a variety of workarounds. I prefer a battery clip snap connector anyway (search "Mr. Power 9V Battery Clip Converter 2.1mm 5.5mm" - they're $3ea) or just chaining another connector on my board's DC power supply, no biggie. I don't understand why some people complain about this - powering a pedal isn't complicated or expensive. In fact, I appreciate pedal manufacturers keeping prices low while allowing ME to decide how to power the thing anyway. The ONLY potential downside is the brightness of the LED, particularly the red, it's borderline blinding (the pics don't begin to illustrate it :)) The LCD display is awesome, lots of useful indicators in there that help bring you to tune quickly but in low light conditions the red LED is overpowering; in low lighting I can't even read the display until the green LED kicks in - at which time I don't need to see the LCD display screen. I may dim it with some tape to take the bright edge off - and of course mine may be an exception but I thought I'd share just the same. Overall this is a minor issue and doesn't take away from the awesomeness of this pedal. IMO it's worth every dime, it's WAY better built than its competitors in the price range and it performs at least as good as (if not notably better than) other tuners I have that cost 2x as much or more. It's hard to imagine regretting this purchase, I plan to get one for each amp even though I don't have pedal boards for each amp. At this price I think everyone should have one sitting on/near every amp. ... show more
