I got this for my 8 yr. old. I was looking for an upgrade from the piggy bank. Its great for paper money or other precious items you want to keep secure from your siblings. The inner door is heavy sturdy metal. It was easy to set the code the first time with the included directions. I suggest only setting it once because when I tried to change it to a different code and I could not do it and the lock would no longer work. The customer service was amazing and they sent me a replacement book safe right away. So even though the directions say that you can set a new three digit number code after the initial selection, I don't recommend it. Just pick one. It was super simple to change the lock combination and the quality of the product is amazing. This is also big enough to store, not just money, but decent sized valuables. Then the cherry on top is the price, because it's the same price as smaller diversion safe.

Unfortunately, it's so thick and the white "pages" are so plastic-y, it doesn't resemble a book. I feel like with an item like this, the cover is make or break. And the cover doesnt say "book" to me. It feels like the DVD boxset of a New York documentary, or something. But it is very spacious. Inside is lined with velvet. The metal box inside feels sturdy. All in all, I don't regret buying it, because it was cheap. But I'd say go get one that looks more like a book unless you need the extra thick interior.
